About me:
Growing up in Kentucky, I was fortunate to experience a loving home filled with cherished memories. Despite my parents having limited resources, they always managed to create a comfortable life for me, turning my simple request into magical moments. I established TTS with the mission to share that magic with others. Since joining the military in 2011 I’ve witnessed the highs and lows of life during my global journeys. That’s why my commitment to this foundation, my friends, family, and community is unwavering. I vow to extend the wonder to all those less fortunate, creating a positive impact in their lives.

Meet Shan!
PRESIDENT

About me:
As a child, I knew what it was like to have shoes that didn’t fit, or clothes that got me bullied. I grew up in a not-so-great area, and even then we fell below the low income standards in our neighbourhood. It wasn’t until I moved into a much more supportive home that I realized how much my self esteem was affected by these things. The feeling I was less than my peers, that I was not deserving of nice things, things that my friends just seemed to come by. In my adult life, I am so blessed to live so well, to be so well, and often wonder how one person can be so fortunate to live with all of this light. Especially as an immigrant to the United States. Because of the vast contrast between the lives I have lived, I have always strived to be the kindest person in someone else’s day. It is a motto that I tell myself daily, and will continue to build upon with my work in this foundation. Through TTS FNDN, I aim to extend that kindness by addressing the needs of underprivileged youth and the homeless, ensuring they have access to more than just essential resources, fostering positive self-esteem, and paving the way for a brighter future.

About me:
As a trauma-informed therapist who’s faced the challenges of poverty firsthand, I deeply empathize with the sense of isolation it brings. Nobody should ever feel they can not express themselves due to their financial situation. I’m passionately dedicated to providing a welcoming haven for underprivileged and foster youth to explore their sense of self and heal. I am honored to be a teammate for True to Size Foundation; my drive within the foundation is driven by ensuring every young soul, regardless of their background, steps into the world feeling valued and empowered, one stylish pair of sneakers at a time.

Meet Billy!
TREASURER / STOCK MANAGEMENT

About me:
I grew up in a small town in a one parent household. Just me and my father. He always taught me to treat others how I want to be treated, and that I was no better than the next guy. My father was a custodian for my home town elementary school. Not the most luxurious job, but it paid the bills and put food on the table. At a young age my father wanted me to know value of watching over my peers. Every December we volunteered to deliver meals to people who didn’t have access to a holiday dinner. We volunteered at local food drives monthly. I grew to love making people smile with such a small gesture. In 2023, I suffered a tragedy of a house fire and lost everything. The overwhelming support that I got from my community completely amazed me. Clothes, shoes, money, etc. They made sure I had nothing to worry about for the next few months except trying to get back on my feet. What I want to do is take care of the next guy. The next family. The next child in need. I want people in this world to know there is someone out there looking out for them.
