With a rich history of over 60 years of service to the community, the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy formerly the Louisville Deaf Oral School is a regional not-for-profit early childhood educational center for young children who are faced with language, speech and communication challenges, which includes deaf and hard of hearing children, ages birth to seven years of age. Over the years, childr

en faced with processing, speech and language communication challenges have excelled in the small classes, specialized language and vocabulary instruction, enhanced “signal to noise” amplification provided in each classroom offered at the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy. So in 2008, the school announced an expanded mission and changed its name to the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy.

Let’s Dance! 🕺

The Louisville Ballet joined us for dance class, and like always, our students had an absolute blast.

The Louisville Ballet visits HHLA to offer movement and kinesthetic learning based on the National Core Arts Standards in Dance, which is therapeutic for children’s vestibular systems. The program promotes balance, coordination, self-regulation and expressive movement.

We are so thankful for partners like The Louisville Ballet and Kosair for Kids that allow us to continue providing education that is full of fun and learning.

Join us for an unforgettable night at the Frazier History Museum supporting children and adults with hearing, speech and communication challenges across our community.

Unlike many fundraising events, there is no silent auction, no live auction, and no paddle raise at this reimagined Hear on the River event. We simply want you to enjoy a great night out while supporting a mission you care about.

Here’s a sneak peak at what you can expect at this event:

Our bourbon basket raffle is live! 🎟️

Enter this raffle at the link below for a chance to win $1,200 of limited edition bourbon! Raffle tickets are $50, and you may purchase as many as you like!

Each ticket is $50. You may purchase as many tickets as you like. You must be 21+ to enter. Individuals under the age of 21 are not eligible to enter or win this raffle. Ticket sales are available in advance beginning on Monday, June 1st until 9:30pm on Saturday, June 27th.

The winner will be announced during the event at the Frazier History Museum. It will be livestreamed on Heuser Hearing Institute’s page at 9:20pm: https://www.facebook.com/thehearinginstitute.

No need to be present to win! The winner will be contacted via the mobile number provided following the drawing. Let’s give these butterflies a round of applause for their hard work, growth, and a fantastic end to the school year. 🦋 We can’t wait to watch them take flight.

Congratulations graduates, let’s celebrate! 🎉🎓

We had so much fun celebrating at the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy graduation ceremony!

These students have participated in curriculum that is purposefully designed to meet and exceed the Kentucky early childhood standards, while being specifically curated to support children who are Deaf and hard of hearing, or have speech, language and communication needs.

HHLA is honored to hold a Cognia accreditation and a 5-Star rating from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services ALL STARS Quality Rating System. We are also a proud partner of Thrive By 5 Louisville .

We are so proud of the growth we have seen in each of our students, and can’t wait to see what’s next in their journeys. 🦋
