Robert Jamison Ministries, Inc.

Robert Jamison Ministries, Inc. Our Focus is on HELP INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES to realize their full potential, and with the right resources, those dreams can and will become a reality.

Project Inspire Academy seeks to inspire Participants to excel academically and individually. Our vision is that all children/youth will have an equal opportunity to learn, grow and excel academically and individually. Serving youth in grades K-12, our goal is to detect and provide intervention as early as possible on issues that will help to break defeating cycles, remove barriers and reach

new goals. Utilizing a holistic approach to meeting the educational and individual needs of our youth and families, we collaborate/partner with other community organizations, businesses and Metro United Way BLOCSTAR initiative to link Participants and their families to needed resources. Operating in a safe, structured and learning based environment allows our staff, volunteers and partners to meet the needs of our youth and families. Meaningful activities, intentional learning objectives, skill-building, critical thinking skills are incorporated in the following areas: Math, Reading, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Homework Help, Life Skills Training, Career specific activities and family empowerment series. Our Life Skills Curriculum based learning is an important and vital aspect as it provides youth with age appropriate life skill applications that will help prepare them in becoming productive, self-sufficient individuals. Where does your Program meet? The Program primary office and program site is Robert Jamison Ministries, Inc, Shawnee Community Center, 607 South 37th Street, Louisville Kentucky. We operate a satellite site at the Shawnee Learning Center, 673 Lindell Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky40211. This site is in partnership with New Directions and the target age for this site is 5 to 12 years old. Due to the COVID-19 we have partnered with EVOLVE502, JCPS and Metro United Way to serve as a NTI Community Learning Hub. This is a critical time for students and RJM is committed making sure students are able to excel academically.

Before folks get too comfortable reacting to this headline, please remember:

A young boy was allegedly caught with five assault weapons at Atherton High School not long ago. What happened to him?

Another young boy allegedly shot at police in the Portland neighborhood and received probation. What happened to him?

Now ask yourself: What race were these two Louisville cases? Why do restorative justice and second chances apply in some situations, but not in others?

It’s not just Black kids getting caught up in the system — but we know Black children are overrepresented, over-policed, and over-prosecuted.

And while people argue on the internet, the data speaks:

👉 Carry on with the regularly scheduled programming… but don’t say nobody told you.

In Louisville, almost every kid being tried in adult court is Black
