CARE at ASH

CARE at ASH CARE disrupts the cycle of homelessness & poverty in Louisville by providing resources, helping to create stability, & empowering those we serve.

From the time a guest enters the doors of ASH, the staff provides intensive case management that is focused on removing many of the physical, mental, and emotional barriers that prevent this population from securing permanent housing.

The walls of Arthur Street Hotel are now alive with purpose.

We're incredibly grateful to Louisville Visual Art (LVA) for bringing a permanent exhibition to Arthur Street Hotel โ€” a collection that lives on our walls as a daily reminder that this community shows up for one another.

This installation is more than art. It's a celebration of mutual aid, a tribute to our residents, and a testament to what happens when people choose to give, create, and care together.

To every artist who contributed their work โ€” thank you for seeing our residents and choosing to share your gifts with them. To everyone who came out to celebrate with us, your presence meant everything.

Art belongs everywhere. And now, it lives here. ๐ŸŽจ

Art changes everything โ€” including home.

We're opening a permanent art installation at our transitional housing community on Arthur Street, featuring work from Louisville Visual Arts. This isn't just a gallery โ€” it's a living, breathing space celebrating mutual aid and the people who make our community stronger.

Join us Sunday, April 12 from 2:00โ€“3:30 p.m. at 1620 Arthur Street. Free entry. Snacks and refreshments provided.

Come see how art can transform a house into a home. Everyone is welcome.

๐Ÿ’ช The Fix-It Force ๐Ÿ’ช

When something breaks at Arthur Street, CJ gets to work.

From stacked work orders to plumbing issues, broken lights and doors off track, she approaches every challenge with skill, determination and purpose.

CJโ€™s impact goes beyond repairs. Between projects, she takes time to listen, share a laugh and build relationships with residents and team members alike. Her work helps restore comfort, safety and dignity throughout the community.

At Arthur Street, maintenance is about more than tools โ€” itโ€™s about people.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you for your hard work
๐Ÿ‘ Thank you for your expertise
๐Ÿ‘ Thank you for being our Fix-It Force

Congratulations to CJ ๐Ÿ’ซ

What happens when businesses step into the conversation about homelessness?

Real solutions. Real impact. Real change.

Our Executive Director recently moderated a panel discussion right here in Louisville, exploring how the business community can help address homelessnessand why getting involved benefits everyone.

This wasnโ€™t just a conversation. It was a call to action.

If you werenโ€™t able to attend, you can catch the full recap here: https://bit.ly/3OlLKUk

We encourage our partners, neighbors, and local businesses to tune in and learn how you can help move the needle in our city.

๐Ÿงฆ THANK YOU, BOMBAS ๐Ÿงฆ

When temperatures drop below zero, something as simple as a pair of socks can make a meaningful difference.

As part of its mission, Bombas donates one pair of socks for every pair purchased. Thanks to that commitment, hundreds of pairs are now leaving Arthur Street and helping keep community members warm during extreme winter conditions.

Socks are often overlooked โ€” until a subzero day arrives without them. Warm, dry feet matter. Comfort matters. Dignity matters.

We are grateful to Bombas for supporting our community when it matters most, and to University of Louisville Sustainability for helping make this donation possible.

Because warmth saves lives.

๐ŸŒŸ STAR OF THE MONTH: KEI KEI ๐ŸŒŸ
๐Ÿ‘‘ Front Desk Queen ๐Ÿ‘‘

From sunup to closing, the Arthur Street lobby remains active โ€” and Kei Kei keeps it running smoothly.

Calm in chaos.
Steady under pressure.
Firm, fair and always looking out for the community.

She is more than the front desk. She is the first line of support, a steady presence and a key reason the lobby operates as it does.

Thank you for your consistency.
Thank you for showing up each day.
Thank you for your commitment to the team and the community.

Congratulations to Kei Kei W.

At our core, our mission is about dignity, access, and opportunityโ€”and that work is inseparable from the pursuit of racial equity.

This month and always, we remain committed to creating safe, supportive spaces where every individual is seen, valued, and given the opportunity to rebuild.

Join the conversation and be part of the solution.

We invite you to a panel discussion with our Executive Director Susan Buchino that will examine homelessness through an economic lens, exploring how businesses, community leaders and local partners play a critical role in addressing todayโ€™s crisis through meaningful, long-term investment.

Reducing homelessness strengthens individuals, stabilizes communities and makes economic sense. Prevention efforts and housing investments are not only the right thing to do, they are practical, cost-effective solutions that benefit us all.

Attend, listen and engage. Your voice and involvement matter as we work toward sustainable solutions together.
