WEDNESDAYS WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT!

Overcoming me!
This morning, I want to talk briefly about overcoming me, not allowing who I am today to block who God has called me to become.

John 1:12 says He gave us “power to become.” That word power means authority. Through Christ, you have the authority to become.

Too often, we allow our circumstances, past mistakes, background, and family history to discourage, distract, and disarm us. But those same things can encourage, empower, and engage us.

What you have or don’t have does not determine where you’re going. If you’re going through something, keep going. Don’t turn a pit stop into a parking lot. Your destiny is ahead of you.

Your mistakes are past mistakes. If God has chosen not to remember them, stop allowing yesterday to control today. You’ve been remade.

And your background doesn’t have to hold you back, it can spring you forward. A diving board lying flat goes nowhere, but properly positioned, it becomes a springboard. Let God use everything you’ve been through to propel you into what’s next.

You are also not bound by your family history. In Christ, you are a new creature. What happened before you does not have to continue through you.

Jesus said, “I have overcome the world.” He has already handled what’s around you. Through Him, you can overcome what’s within you, your fears, regrets, limitations, and doubts.

Jesus overcame the world.
So Declare today: “I’m overcoming me, God’s got the rest!”
