There’s still time to join us in San Diego for the USA Masters Training Camp, October 9–10!

This is more than a weekend of lifting. It’s an opportunity to train, learn, and connect with other Masters athletes while diving into the things that matter specifically to us. Technique, recovery, programming, longevity, competition preparation, and continuing to improve at every age.

And there’s something bigger at stake here.

We hear you when you ask for more USA Masters events on the West Coast. We want them too. But bringing more camps, clinics, and opportunities west depends on showing that the demand is there.

Turnout matters.

If you’ve been asking for more opportunities closer to home, this is your chance to help show us that the West Coast Masters community is ready for more.

The United States made up 220 out of 1,355 total athletes that competed with 209 of those athletes posting totals. Congratulations to all of our medalists, which include 33 gold medals, 18 silver medals, and 25 bringing home the bronze for their country! In addition, we saw 110 athletes finishing in the top 5 of their respective categories and a massive 168 finishing in the top 10!

For our team standings, our men’s team brought home second place with 270 points awarded while our women’s team placed third overall with 244 points.

Some key standout lifters to point out would include Rudolf Kotlikov who was awarded the M90 best lifter and grand master award. Additional best lifter awards presented to Rick Buckness (M60), Christopher Douglas (M45), Lynn Paskiewkcz (W70), and Margaret Franklin (W65).

With this year’s event, we also saw the largest turnout of adaptive athletes in history with 13 athletes representing 11 different countries. For the United States, we saw Beth Morton (W60 69kg PW4) and Samantha Love (W35 69kg PW2) bring home gold medals.

Congratulations to all athletes that represented the United States in Athens and made us all proud.
