I’m Sarah, Director of Advocacy and Community Engagement. I’m grateful to have your support as I work to improve safety and accessibility in our parks. This year, we celebrated the opening of Elliott Park following a $3 million renovation and I am looking forward to continuing partnerships with park neighbors like Elderserve to keep the park active and beautiful.

I love to work with friends and partner organizations to activate parks with community events like Yoga in Central Park, National Senior Day in Elliott Park, Ballet Bound in Algonquin Park, Pet Clinics in Chickasaw Park, and Back to School Give-Aways in Shelby Park.

Whether you would like to see more government funding go to parks, better transit and pedestrian access to neighborhood parks, or more community access and free programming in parks—we need your help advocating for Louisville’s Olmsted Parks and the communities they serve… ask me how!

Olmsted Parks Conservancy is hiring a Project Director!

GENERAL SUMMARY

🌱 Olmsted Parks Conservancy works closely with Louisville Parks & Recreation to execute capital projects in our parks. Recent projects include the restoration of Hogan’s Fountain, a new playground in Central Park, and multiple improvements in Tyler Park. We have a total park restoration that has just begun in Elliott Park and numerous capital projects in Chickasaw Park. This is an opportunity to oversee these transformative investments in our parks that add greatly to the quality of life for our community.

👷‍♀️ Under the supervision of the President/CEO, the Project Director is responsible for the successful completion of all Conservancy capital projects, including Conservancy-controlled projects (direct responsibility) and Conservancy/Metro collaborative projects (shared responsibility with Parks staff).

🌳 We value diversity in the workplace for the same reason we value biodiversity in our parks: it makes communities more resilient, sustainable, and vibrant. Our parks are an intrinsic part of Louisville, and, as an organization striving for inclusivity, we commit to fostering diversity and respect both in nature and neighborhood.
