Derby City CLUW

Derby City CLUW The Coalition of Labor Union Women is America's only national organization for union women. Derby City CLUW is the Louisville, Kentucky chapter of CLUW.

Formed in 1974, CLUW is a nonpartisan organization within the union movement. In 1974, a group of union women came together to form CLUW, a non-partisan organization that became a powerful voice of unity for women within the labor movement and the workforce with four constant goals:
• Activism and leadership of women in unions and at all levels of the labor movement.
• Organizing women workers who

are not organized.
• Political education and involvement of women in the legislative and political process.
• Promotion of fairness, equality of opportunity and upward mobility of women in the workplace. With these goals as our cornerstone, CLUW leads the way on other issues that affect working women and families – including women’s health and wellness, child and elder care benefits, safe work environments, fair and equitable pay, fair
trade, job security, national health care and expansion of family and medical leave. CLUW is leading the effort to empower women in the workplace, advance women in their unions, and promote policies that support women and working families. Join us to:
• Develop your leadership skills and excel on the job, in your union and in your community
• Network with other labor women
• Increase women’s activism and leadership in the labor movement
• Work for progressive political change
• Benefit from information and publications you can’t find anywhere but CLUW. Join CLUW today!
