On Earth Day 2026, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Solar Kentucky, the Kentucky Solar Energy Society, partnered to launch its 5th annual Solarize campaign, Solarize Louisville, to give residents, small businesses, non-profits, and places of worship bulk-purchasing power to obtain discounted wholesale rates for solar installation.

About Solarize Louisville:
Solarize Louisville is a partnership to expand solar throughout the Louisville region. Louisville Metro Government’s Office of Sustainability has partnered with Solar Kentucky, the Kentucky Solar Energy Society, to launch Solarize to give properties in Louisville/Jefferson County and its seven surrounding counties the opportunity to go solar together and support the city’s 100% clean energy goals. The campaign gives participants bulk-purchasing power to obtain discounted wholesale rates for solar installation from vetted installers.
About Pure Power Solar (PPS):
Founded in 2017, Pure Power Solar is a local, family-owned & operated solar design, installation, and service company. PPS has a proven track record of delivering high quality systems with great customer satisfaction. They were previously selected for Solarize Frankfort in 2023 and 2024, as well as the Solarize Louisville campaigns for 2024 and 2025. 2026 will mark their third consecutive year working with Louisville Metro Government.

Eligible applicants:
This program is open to all homeowners in the Louisville/Jefferson County and surrounding counties (see full list of counties below). Residential and small non-residential property owners (small businesses, nonprofit, places of worship, institutional, etc.) are welcome to apply. Non-residential properties will be included if the project is deemed feasible within this campaign. Eligible counties are as follows:
Jefferson, Oldham, Spencer, Shelby, and Bullitt counties in Kentucky.
Harrison, Floyd, and Clark counties in Indiana.
