A great time was had, as always, at Valley Dairy Freeze Inc for Scoops with the Badges! Thank you Shelley Sanders Blandford for hosting and allowing us to disrupt normal business.
We enjoyed free arts and crafts sponsored by Fifth Third Bank with Manager Cindy Rennirt; sweet animals to love on brought by the Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary; kids loved seeing Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District - Official and getting their own fire hats and of course getting badges from LMPD 3rd Division Louisville Metro Police Department and spending time with everyone’s best 4 legged handsome friend Odin!!
Thank you to Cassy Fay Boes for going above and beyond with the screen and projector and hanging out the entire time. Thank you to Steven Goodman for the sound system. Valley Station Chamber of Commerce is growing strong and proud to be able to help bring our community together!

June Spotlight Member David Dunbar

The Valley Station Chamber of Commerce is proud to shine the spotlight on David Dunbar, Executive Director of Symphony at Valley Farms, as our June Spotlight Member.

A graduate of Doss High School and a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisville, David has deep roots in the community he now serves. For the first time in his professional career, he has the opportunity to work in the same community where he and his wife have built their life together. Married for nearly 30 years, they have raised four children, helped guide several others along the way, and are now proud grandparents of five. Their family remains actively involved in their church and committed to serving others.

David’s career in leadership began at UPS and expanded into management roles in restaurants, optical dispensaries, dental offices, and veterinary hospitals. While each position helped shape his leadership style, he always knew his heart was drawn toward serving senior citizens.

“Working with our aging population is most assuredly where my heart is,” David shares. “Being able to learn from those who have lived and experienced a world I never knew has been both a joy and a form of enlightenment.”

Today, David combines his passion for people with his extensive management experience to lead one of Southwest Louisville’s most respected senior living communities.

For more than 14 years, Symphony at Valley Farms has provided Assisted Living and Memory Support services to families throughout the Valley Station area. Their company motto, “Where Together Is Better,” reflects a core belief that seniors thrive when they remain connected to a vibrant and engaging community.

At Symphony at Valley Farms, residents enjoy opportunities to stay active, social, and involved through a variety of programs and activities. Whether attending local outings, participating in Bible studies, enjoying bourbon tastings, or gathering with friends, there is truly something for everyone.

That commitment to excellence recently earned Symphony at Valley Farms recognition from U.S. News & World Report as a Best Assisted Living and Best Memory Care community.

David credits their success to a few simple but powerful principles:

• Promoting well-being for older adults
• Helping seniors live safe and connected lives
• Valuing meaningful relationships
• Delivering exceptional value to residents and their families
• Creating a sense of belonging for everyone
• Remembering that staff work in the residents’ homes — residents do not live in the staff’s workplace

By hiring and training quality team members and continually striving to exceed expectations, David and his team work every day to make aging easier for seniors while helping families navigate life’s transitions with confidence and support.

The Valley Station Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize David Dunbar and the entire Symphony at Valley Farms team for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to improving the lives of seniors throughout our community.

Please join us in congratulating David Dunbar, our June Spotlight Member, and thanking him for the positive impact he continues to make in Southwest Louisville. Let’s include this in the flyer.
