There’s Nothing Quite Like Christmas in Valley Station

When December settles over Valley Station and the Christmas lights begin to glow, there’s a certain kind of magic that feels like home.

It’s children bundled up against the winter air, neighbors stopping to visit, Christmas music floating through the evening, local businesses welcoming familiar faces, and families making the kind of memories that become traditions.

On Sunday, December 6, from 1–6 PM, we’ll gather once again for Light Up Valley Station 2026—and we’re inviting our local businesses, organizations, community leaders, and neighbors to help us make this year’s celebration something truly special.

Sponsorship opportunities range from our Presenting and Title Sponsorships to supporting the Kids Tent, entertainment, food trucks, Vendor Row, bouncy houses, security, VIP parking, and other pieces of the celebration. For those who simply want to sprinkle a little extra Christmas cheer into the day, Holiday Cheer Partnerships begin at just $50.

And if you’re a local maker, small business, nonprofit, entrepreneur, or vendor hoping to set up shop among the twinkling lights, vendor spaces begin at $50.

Every sponsorship helps create those little moments we love most—the sound of laughter, the smell of something delicious nearby, children taking in the Christmas lights, old friends finding one another in the crowd, and neighbors lingering just a little longer because nobody is quite ready to go home.

As September comes to a close, the Valley Station Chamber of Commerce Board and Members would like to send a heartfelt hometown thank you to the men and women of LMPD Division 3 and our local law enforcement partners who serve Southwest Louisville.

Around here, community still means something.

It means waving to familiar faces, checking on a neighbor, cheering from the sidelines on Friday night, supporting the little shop down the road, and showing up for one another when life gets hard.

Our Division 3 officers understand that kind of community.

They answer calls and step into situations most of us will never see with our own eyes or have to carry in our hearts. Yet some of the most meaningful parts of what they do happen in the quiet moments that never make the evening news.

They cheer on our young people.

They sit beside someone who may be having a lonely or difficult day.

They stop by our local businesses, share conversations over coffee, attend festivals and neighborhood gatherings, answer questions, listen to concerns, shake hands, laugh with our families, and remind folks that somebody is there when they need them.

Those little moments matter.

Through Coffee with Cops, Chamber Lunch & Learns, community events, festivals, youth activities, and countless conversations throughout Southwest Louisville, we have had the privilege of seeing the relationships built between LMPD, JCSD, our local businesses, and the people who call this corner of Louisville home.

And that is what makes a hometown strong.

It is not only the people who answer when there is trouble. It is the people who stay involved when things are good, too.

So to our LMPD Division 3 officers and our law enforcement partners, thank you for protecting our neighborhoods, supporting our businesses, encouraging our children, listening to our residents, and being part of the fabric of Southwest Louisville.

Thank you for the work we see, the work we hear about, and especially the acts of kindness and service that happen when nobody is taking a picture and no headline will ever be written.

In a place where neighbors still look out for neighbors, we are grateful to have you among ours.

Southwest Louisville, let’s make this Friday a little brighter, a little kinder, and a whole lot more fun.
