Hello Birth Care Network and friends!

The pandemic has been hard on all of us and that means so many things. BCN is committed to helping the community any way possible. To that end, we've decided to waive membership fees for the 2021 year. This means that if you've been a member, you will be automatically renewed. If you are new to BCN, you're welcome to join us this year with all the benefits of membership!

Congratulations to Mary Kathryn DeLodder of the Kentucky Birth Coalition for winning the 2020 Spirit of Birth Award for her hard work at organizing and working with Kentuckians to get a law pass that recognizes the Certified Professional Midwife in Kentucky. Doulas are important for families! And a shout out to fellow doula and Kentuckian for her contribution for this article, Victoria Wilson of Mother Well Doula Service.

When hospitals adopted visitor restrictions, doulas advocated being included in the process at UK HealthCare. They are exempt from the restricted visitor policy.
