As we celebrate St. John Center’s 40th anniversary, we’re looking back at the community partners and resources that have helped make our work possible.

For years, EAF – Housing and Rental Assistance for Shelter provided critical funding to St. John Center, including $44,000 to support housing and rental assistance for people experiencing homelessness.

Today, that work continues through Louisville Metro’s Office of Social Services.

The name may have changed, and our programs have grown, but the heart of the work remains the same: helping people move from homelessness toward housing and greater stability.

Forty years later, we’re still doing what we set out to do—meeting people where they are and helping them take the next step toward home.

We are grateful for the public and community partnerships that have sustained this work across the decades.

Please join us as we welcome Greg Oerther, Referral and Engagement Manager for Bridgehaven Mental Health Services.

Greg will share how Bridgehaven supports adults living with serious mental health challenges through Therapeutic Rehabilitation Services (TRS)—helping individuals build cognitive, social, independent living, and employment skills that support long-term recovery and stability.

Bridgehaven's work is an essential part of creating opportunities for adults with serious mental illness to thrive, and we're looking forward to learning more about the impact of their services.

We're hosting a Shelter Supply Drive, and you can help make a direct impact by bringing items that support individuals staying in our emergency shelter. Your donation helps ensure our guests have the everyday essentials they need while taking the next steps toward stability.

For 40 years, volunteers have been an important part of St. John Center’s story.

They’ve shown up with their time, talents, compassion, and willingness to serve. From helping with daily needs and special projects to supporting events and simply spending time with our guests, volunteers have helped make our work possible year after year.

As we celebrate 40 years of St. John Center, we’re also celebrating the countless volunteers who have walked alongside us throughout the decades. Our services may have grown and changed, but one thing has remained constant: our community shows up.
