The purpose of the organization is to build community understanding and support through operating community vegetable and flower gardens or other environmental projects u

sing sustainable practices to improve the environment. Activities will include but not be limited to education and awareness programs, maintaining a variety of garden types, bee hives, a bird sanctuary, water conservation systems, walking paths, recycling, composting, and partnering or forming alliances with other groups to participate in sustainable projects and to improve the quality of life in the area. Other gardening, environmental, water conservation and sustainable opportunities shall be explored and undertaken to expand the organization’s purposes within Jefferson County, KY. Clifton Community Council Public Meeting and Board Elections.

AGENDA:
1. Appreciation to DIRK GOWIN, former Public Works official. For many, many years Dirk worked closely with the Clifton Community Council and the Neighborhood Pedestrian & Bicycle Access Committee to help create an accessible, walkable, and bicycle neighborhood and promote pedestrian safety.
2. TARC Robert Monsma, Transportation Planner (and Clifton neighbor) will speak on TARC 2025: Moving Forward Together, which is a year-long initiative, working directly with the community to develop strategies for an updated TARC transit network that will better meet the region’s needs and priorities within the reality of the funding TARC expects to receive over the next 5-10 years.
3. Civil War FORT ELSTNER / Pam Vetter. Located between Frankfort Avenue and Brownsboro Road, from Vernon Avenue to KY School for the Blind property.
4. Frankfort Avenue Historic Walking Tour . Sunday, October 13 / Mike O’Leary
5. Tricks and Treasures! Not-so-Spooky Clifton Community Yard Sale! Saturday, October 26, 8 am- Noon / Lorene Pellegrino
BOD ELECTION:
The Clifton Community Council will hold its Annual Public Meeting and Board Elections on September 16. Four current board members are up for re-election: Bill Wright, Pam Vetter, Emily Boone, and Joey Couch. There is one vacancy. To be eligible to vote one must be a Clifton resident, business, or property owner, and be a paid dues member ($10 per person per year).
