Kentucky Author Forum is a non-profit, nationally-recognized literary event. The Kentucky Author Forum is a non-profit, nationally-recognized literary event.

Author Forum programs carefully match an author and interviewer; their hour-long candid conversations are staged at The Kentucky Center in Louisville. The event is filmed and distributed as the series “Great Conversations” on PBS member stations nationwide. Recent guests have included NYT Opinion columnist Maureen Dowd, bestselling writer Amor Towles, and musician Joan Baez. The series was founded

by producer Mary Moss Greenebaum in 1996, and is sponsored by the James Graham Brown Foundation, Bittners, The Owsley Brown II Family, and LDG Development. KAF also produces "Great Podversations" podcast, available on all major podcast apps.

Kudos to KAF Board Member Joanna Hay and her new documentary which explores going to the movies at the Grand Theatre in Frankfort, Kentucky during the era of Jim Crow segregation. It is the story of community, love, and belonging, despite the discrimination and degradation faced by the town’s Black community, who were relegated to the balcony.
Next showing in Nantucket on August 5th at Dreamland Film and Cultural Center.

Kentucky Author Forum welcomed Azar Nafisi on April 19, 2005, when she discussed her bestselling memoir with civil rights reporter Karl Fleming. If you joined us for that memorable conversation—or have since discovered her remarkable work—this film will soon be at Louisville's Speed Cinema.
