Louisville UnFair is an inclusive and unconventional art festival supporting local artists. UnFair happens the first full weekend in October at Mag Bar.

The Louisville UnFair has grown to become the city’s favorite alternative art festival and is an institution in Old Louisville. Each year, the show returns to its home in the backyard of the Magnolia Bar and thousands come together to experience this unique event. Championing self-expression, the Louisville UnFair provides an inclusive and unconventional platform for local artists to showcase their talents and to connect with the community. Originally created as a rebel art show for locals, by locals, the UnFair lifts marginalized artists in our community allowing them to push boundaries and fuel the city’s evolving art scene. While not as large as other traditional “white-tent” arts and crafts fairs, the eclectic mix of local art, loud music, and free expression provide an unmatched level of pure authenticity. The Louisville UnFair lineup keeps rolling..

🔥 Kimberly is a Louisville-based artist working in woodburning and watercolor, mixing her love of kewpies, plants, and American traditional flash into work that’s unmistakably hers. She’s always experimenting with new mediums and finding new ways to push her voice and vision.

🖨️ Ghost Penny Studio is the work of Bucky Vandenburg, a Louisville artist who has spent more than a decade screen printing, painting, sculpting, and leaving his mark all over this city. If you’ve picked up a local band tee, stared at a show flyer, or passed a sign at a Louisville business, there’s a damn good chance you’ve already crossed paths with his work.

Two more artists joining us at Louisville UnFair 2026:
🎨 Kayla Morgan-Green is a Black artist from Louisville’s West End whose paintings explore the beauty and complexity of Black life—from love and fashion to tragedy and history. Her work shines a light on these stories while creating space for the next generation. Kayla is also the Event Coordinator and one-half of Who Don’t Love Art, alongside her artist husband, Ci’Vaughn Green.

🔥 Grandma’s Beard is a q***r Afro-Latino illustrator and painter taking vintage Americana and golden-age comics and flipping them through a q***r, Black, and Latino lens. Their work lives somewhere between the colorful haze of childhood nostalgia and the ugly beauty of intimacy.

Different stories. Different mediums. Art that actually has something to say.

We’re getting closer to Louisville UnFair 2026, so meet two more artists joining the lineup.
🎨 Harlan Welch-Scarboro is a mixed-media artist out of Southern Indiana, bringing their work across the river and straight into the UnFair.

⚡ Nick Knight is a local printmaker and illustrator mixing mid-century punch, lowbrow charm, and bold graphic storytelling. His limited-run prints and original pieces celebrate everything weird, nostalgic, and beautifully imperfect.

Meet two more artists bringing their work to Louisville UnFair 2026.

🔥 Russell Jackson is the creator of Heathen Hollow, a traditional art project crawling with folk horror, mid-century illustration, and weird fiction. He’s also the writer and illustrator behind the comic book Crawling Chaos and has been showing his work at conventions and art fairs for 13 years—which everyone knows is a lucky number.

🎨 Damon Thompson is a Louisville muralist and fine artist known for bold linework, narrative imagery, and public art that tells a damn good story. Blending graffiti, illustration, portraiture, and cultural history, Damon has left his mark all over Louisville. During the 2020 lockdown alone, he completed 43 murals in under six weeks and has since created more than 50 murals throughout the region.
From folk horror and weird fiction to the walls of Louisville, these two are bringing completely different flavors of local art that refuses to be boring.

Louisville’s local artists are almost taking over, and we’ve got two more artists you need to know.
🪡 Emily takes traditional craft and makes it behave badly. Working across multiple mediums—including subversive cross stitch and hand engraving on mirrors and metal—her art comes loaded with humor, snark, unexpected subject matter, and a healthy amount of profanity. Grandma’s cross stitch could NEVER.

⚡ Scott Scarboro is a Louisville multimedia artist with more than 30 years of making, exhibiting, and collecting fans around the world. He’s also been a schoolteacher, lamp repairman, AND a prop builder for clowns at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College—which might be the most UnFair résumé we’ve ever heard.

🎨 Harild Kyler Arts creates art rooted in resilience. A Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer Thriver, she transforms recycled frames into original pieces packed with beauty, strength, sustainability, and a whole lot of heart. Her work is proof that art can turn the s**t life throws at us into something powerful.

🐾 Sarah Tidwell is a local artist, mom, wife, and animal rescuer making a world that's a hell of a lot more colorful. Her work is packed with whimsical animals, bold color, and plenty of personality—from original acrylic paintings to prints, stickers, shirts, and more.

Mia works with natural elements like bone, antler, sea life, stone, leather & teeth to create art that connects us back to Mother Nature and the cycle of life. Since moving to Louisville, she’s become part of the local art scene while also being a proud solo mama to some pretty incredible kiddos.

🎨 JEREMIAH
Jeremiah is an artist who refuses to stop learning. Always exploring new techniques and methods, his work is driven by capturing raw emotion and finding the art within it all. He’s also a former YAO artist, and we’re proud to have him back at UnFair.

🎨 LEIA FACEWALKER — KRISTINA
Kristina is a self-taught acrylic and multimedia artist based in Jeffersonville, creating under the name Leia Facewalker. Inspired by anything and everything, her work can be nerdy, abstract, unexpected, and always a little odd.
