What a beautiful day! And the St X volunteers came out in droves. See my pano mode photo! Some mowed, some used the w**d eaters and some cut thick w**ds and branches. Lots of equipment got used. So much so that I operated the leaf blower for the first time. Used it to blow grass cuttings off stones.
I uncovered a number of boundary stones. These were all in the same area of the cemetery. Most of the time I’m unable to find a grave marker for the same name on these family plot markers. Exception today was the Family Gross boundary stone which matched a gravestone. Another belonged to the family of Fruechtenicht. I could not find gravestones but according to Google they are or were there at one time.
Bernhard Fruechtenicht (1843–1904) and members of his family, such as Johannah (Bogel) Fruechtenicht (1852–1920) and daughter Lizette (Fruechtenicht) Koenig, are documented as being buried in Section A, Range 24, Lot 34.
Still plenty of w**ds to get cleared up and six more weekends before Veteran’s Day. Hope this weather continues.
