🌟 We are honored to announce that Garry Adams has been recognized as a Fellow of the Louisville Bar Foundation (LBF).

This program recognizes individuals who demonstrate their commitment to the LBF’s mission through a generous personal gift.

Without the essential support of our donors, the LBF would not have been able to award more than $135,00 in grants to local non-profits in 2025.

Please visit www.loubar.org for more information on how you can support this critical work.

Do you know a local nonprofit group that does good work and needs funding? The Louisville Bar Foundation accepts grant applications for projects that fulfill one or more of the following objectives:
∙ Projects that improve access to the legal system by persons of limited financial means, and if possible, produce a tangible product that can be distributed to the public;
∙ Projects that promote better access to legal information and improved perception of the justice system by minorities;
∙ Projects that improve the operation of, and public confidence in, the Jefferson County courts;
∙ Projects that provide public education about our legal system and promote a positive image of the legal profession.

The LBF distributed over $165,000 in grants during 2023. The typical grant has been in the $2,500 to $12,000 range in recent years. Funds will not be awarded for tickets or sponsorships of special events, for capital construction or endowment campaigns. The upcoming grant application deadline is April 12. Another grant application cycle may occur in October depending upon funds available.

Grant materials are available on the Foundation’s website. For more information and to download a grant application, visit bit.ly/2mfx8qX or, contact the Foundation director, Jeff Been, by phone at 435-8715 or by email at [email protected].

Your gift made a difference in 2023 when the LBF awarded $10,000 to Access Justice for its Expungement Clinics. Since 2014, Access Justice has provided free legal services through weekly or monthly clinics to low-income individuals and families throughout metro Louisville. With a network of over forty volunteer attorneys and an office in the Portland neighborhood, Access Justice’s legal clinics educate participants on how to resolve a broad range of legal problems. LBF’s grant will provide funds to allow Access Justice to reach and serve individuals in need of expungements.
