It’s National Dessert Day, and we want to thank the SWEET partners who help keep delicious treats from going to waste! 💚

A big shoutout to Kroger, Crumbl, Costco, Dawn Foods, and Thorntons and all the partners who make our food rescue work possible.

After all, the sweetest thing isn’t just the dessert. It’s sharing it with someone else. 💚

Throwing an event? Don’t throw away the impact. 🎉

Leftover food ≠ trash. It’s an opportunity. At Kentucky Harvest, we pick up surplus food from catered events and deliver it directly to people who need it — often the same day.

📞 Got leftovers? Call us or visit kyharvest.org. We’ll take it from there.

And once the food is rescued, make sure the remaining materials are recycled right!

✅ Recycle paper & cardboard, cartons, plastic bottles, tubs & containers, glass bottles & jars, metal cans & foil
🚫 Keep food and liquids out of recycling bins
💚 Rescue extra food. Recycle the rest.

🦃 Who knew coming in LAST could feel this good?

Our golf outing isn't just about birdies and bragging rights. Every foursome plays on behalf of one of Kentucky Harvest’s nonprofit partners, and our 1st, 2nd and last-place teams win 18 Thanksgiving turkeys for their partner!

And the winners are...

What a wonderful day at the Stuff the Van event with Whole Foods Market! 🚚

Earlier this year, they generously donated an electric van to Kentucky Harvest. Since then, that van has helped us transport over 100,000 pounds of rescued food to local nonprofit organizations serving families throughout our community.

Today, they added even more impact through food donations that will help nourish our neighbors. We’re so grateful for the food donations! 🍽

We are proud to share that our Executive Director, Heather Stewart, has been named a Kentucky Colonel. 🌟

For those unfamiliar with the distinction, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels are people who are recognized for their dedication to goodwill, service, and strengthening communities across the Commonwealth.

Heather is incredibly humbled by this honor and remains focused on the work that matters most: rescuing food, feeding neighbors, and building partnerships that help combat food insecurity throughout our region. 🍽

Our Tee It Up to End Hunger golf outing would not have been possible without the incredible volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who helped make the day such a success.
