University of Louisville Community Composting Project

University of Louisville Community Composting Project The University of Louisville Community Composting Project is a Louisville Metro licensed composting

The U of L Community Composting Project processes coffee grounds and other compostable wastes from community partners, like Heine Bros Coffee, Genscape, and others. We process the compostables and offer that product to the Metro Louisville and U of L community at low or no cost. We also create vermicompost, which we also distribute to community members, and we educate individuals and groups about

how to compost or create related systems. Our main site is near Belknap Campus, and we consult in all areas of urban farming and sustainbility. We partner with Blackacre Nature Conservancy, the local Master Gardner Program, and many farms and community gardens in the area.
