Hey everyone! SFL hasn't done much on campus in a while and this year I am trying to organize a debate about the sweatshop policy at UofL on October 15th. I am also going to try and have a free speech wall sometime this fall. If anyone is interested in helping out with any of those things shoot me an email. We also need board members for this group, so contact me if you are interested in that as well!

Why is UofL deciding whether a person is in need of charity or a "pandhandler"? And did any student receive an email of the same nature, or was there some UofL-1% favoritism for "faculty and staff"?

From UofL Today (a daily email service):

"DPS warns about panhandling on campus

The UofL Police Department warns faculty and staff to be aware of one or two people panhandling on Belknap Campus. At least one person or more claiming to represent St. Stephen’s Church have approached at least four people around lunch time. The panhandler says the church bus is broken down and he needs money for its repair. Victims have identified the person as a well-dressed, articulate, middle-aged African American male, 5’6” or taller, either bald or with thin graying hair. If someone approaches you asking for money, please call University Police at 852-6111." (03/07/12)

Heck, this discussion has roots in Denver, Colorado too. http://www.examiner.com/libertarian-in-denver/congressional-candidate-reduced-to-panhandling

Hopefully Rob doesn't get too much of that public domain, NOT McNealy pictured When you are getting off on Parker from I-225 today after work, look out and
