📣DEADLINE: TODAY!
The EPA is accepting written comments in the public docket until 11:59 PM EDT TODAY, July 20, on a proposed rule to roll back regulations on PFAS levels in drinking water (https://www.epa.gov/sdwa/proposed-pfas-rescission-rule).

The public docket can be accessed at www.regulations.gov under Docket ID: EPA-HQ-OW-2025-0654.

The proposed rules would no longer regulate PFHxS, PFNA, HFPO-DA, or Hazard Index mixtures of these three PFAS plus PFBS. The only two substances that would be regulated would be PFOA and PFOS and regulations would not go into effect until 2029.

KAS is seeking a part-time Science Policy Specialist to start in August 2026.

Details:
• Commitment: Average of 40 hours/month
• Pay: $25/hour
• Benefits: Up to $1,000/year for expenses

Key Responsibilities:
• Track Kentucky legislation and coordinate advocacy actions
• Engage with legislators and partner organizations
• Produce science policy analyses and quarterly reports

Ideal Candidate:
• Strong STEM background
• Experience in policy, research, or advocacy
• Familiarity with Kentucky state government
• Degree: BA/BS minimum (MS preferred)
