Cameron has been running in the mountains to prepare for the Grindstone 100 Kilometer race in Virginia on September 19th. He is asking you to help him bring the Lab and additional motivation with him by making a pledge for every kilometer he runs.

Current Pledge Dashboard

$3,990 has been pledged by 13 people/families so far if Cameron completes the 100K and collects all the bonuses pledged.

Current Breakdown of Pledges

$26.25/kilometer finished
$605 bonus if he finishes
$660 bonus if he can document a snake, turtle, lizard, frog, and salamander while racing

Remember, our first goal is $12,000 total raised for the Lab to cover non-salary operating expenses for one month. Our second goal is $27,000 to cover all Lab expenses for a month.

Any pledge per kilometer will help us reach these goals. Pledge here: https://forms.gle/H1bVJGUBQQSsz6Mk6 (Link is in our Bio)

The Chinese New Year - Year of the Wood Snake starts is January 29th! Do you want your very own Center for Snake Conservation "Year of the Snake" t-shirt? We have opted for a performance shirt featuring a Yunnan Mountain Bamboo Ratsnake. There are several styles available as a part of this fundraiser. Check it out and get your very own at this link: https://www.customink.com/fundraising/year-of-the-snake

All proceeds from this fundraiser will be placed towards our fundraising goal to purchase our very own facility! If you can make a donation above and beyond the purchase of a t-shirt, we will greatly appreciate it!

Join Us in Establishing a Permanent Home for Reptile and Amphibian Conservation! 🐢🐸

We’re on a mission to create a permanent home for My Nature Lab, our educational facility dedicated to the conservation of reptiles and amphibians. This space serves as a hub for learning, research, and hands-on experiences that inspire people of all ages to protect these vital species and their habitats.
To make our vision a reality, we need your help! We’re raising funds for the down payment to purchase the building, and your contribution can make all the difference.

Your support will help us:🌱 Establish a permanent space for interactive education and conservation programs.🐍 Expand resources for the study and protection of reptiles and amphibians.🌎 Inspire a love for nature and a commitment to preserving biodiversity.

Donate today to help us secure this future for conservation and education![Insert donation link or QR code]
Together, we can create a legacy of care and stewardship for our planet’s most vulnerable creatures. Thank you for making this dream possible! 💚

What is the smallest snake that you have ever seen? Check out how tiny this baby lined snake is that was found near Boulder, Colorado. Is is bigger or smaller than the smallest snake you have ever seen?

Does a triangular shaped head mean that a snake is venomous? No. Many snakes can flatten their heads to appear bigger and potentially more intimidating to a potential threat. Check out how triangular these two bullsnakes can make their heads. Unfortunately, this myth had been perpetuated for who knows how long - too long in my opinion. I discuss this snake myth in our next newsletter. Have you signed up to get the newsletter of the Center for Snake Conservation or our educational facility My Nature Lab? If not, visit our website to sign up and stay current with everything we are doing.

Just like your favorite aunt or uncle, Sawa (a reticulated python) and Mr. Bags (a Burmese python) are stuffed after their Thanksgiving meals. Giant snakes such as these pythons are known for eating very large prey items. The rabbits these snakes ate are around 35 percent of their body mass. Can you match this feat today with your Thanksgiving meal?
