Our team enjoyed the Tri-State Elevate & Advocate Conference with CASA programs from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia!

Nicole Cardwell, Director of Development; Tara Brown, Executive Director; and Kayla Long, Advocacy Supervisor, learned so much from our regional peers and brought back fresh ideas to strengthen our advocacy for the children we serve.

Congratulations to CASA Volunteer Monteva Hodo on being named one of Louisville Business First’s 40 Under 40 honorees!

Monteva shared a powerful perspective in her interview with Louisville Business First: “Service isn’t something I do. It’s part of who I am.”

One of the meaningful ways Monteva lives out that commitment is through her service as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She shows up for children, listens to them, and helps make sure their needs and voices are heard.

We are honored to have Monteva as part of the CASA of the River Region family and so proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

What a wonderful evening at the Mt. Washington Farm to Table Dinner on September 12! Guests enjoyed a delicious chef-prepared meal right in the town square while coming together to support local organizations.

CASA of the River Region was honored to be selected as one of the organizations to receive a portion of the evening’s proceeds. Special thanks to CASA Board Member Debi Bass and the entire team who helped make this special evening possible.

We’re always glad to be part of events that bring our community together and support children across our region.

An inspiring morning at the Kosair for Kids Bullitt County Community Impact Breakfast on Thursday.

Our Director of Development, Nicole Cardwell, and Executive Director, Tara Brown, were honored to attend and hear the inspiring story of Kosair Kid Grayson and his family.

Join us in welcoming Amanda Roberts, PhD, to the Board of Directors of CASA of the River Region. Amanda is a researcher and educator who currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Spalding University in the School of Criminal Justice. Her background in research, education, and criminal justice brings another valuable perspective to the board and to CASA's work. Welcome, Amanda!

CASA recently added Colleen Parga, JD, to our Board of Directors. Colleen is a Managing Associate with Dentons Bingham Greenebaum. In addition to her legal knowledge and professional experience, Colleen brings a firsthand understanding of CASA's work. She served as a CASA Volunteer Advocate from 2023 to 2024, giving her direct experience advocating for children involved in Family Court. Welcome, Colleen!

Kenya serves as Inclusion & Diversity Manager for Republic Bank, a role that keeps her actively involved and visible in the community. Beyond her professional work, Kenya is a music ministry leader and participates in other community-focused endeavors. She brings a broad perspective and a strong commitment to serving others to her role on the board. Welcome, Kenya!
