Just over 15 years ago, one observant teacher in Jacksonville, FL changed everything.

A young student was coming to school every Monday unhappy and acting out. But as the week went on, her demeanor softened. She felt better. She could focus.

Her teacher soon realized why: she was coming to school hungry on Mondays, and the meals she received during the school week helped her feel more like herself.

That observation helped launch a Blessings in a Backpack school program that has supported its students for nearly two decades!
