I join my brother bishops and the faithful in praying for the recovery and healing of our Holy Father following his recent cancer diagnosis. By the grace of God, his surgery was successful and his recovery is progressing well. Pope Leo XIV remains in my prayers as he undergoes treatment under the care of his doctors. Join me in praying for Pope Leo and his continued recovery. May God strengthen and comfort him.

Please join us in praying for Pope Leo XIV. 🙏

The Vatican confirmed today that Pope Leo has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Surgeons at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital successfully removed the lower lobe of his right lung. The operation was completed without complications, and the Holy Father is now recovering.

Catholic Charities of Louisville joins millions around the world in praying for Pope Leo’s healing, strength, and full recovery.

Our Lady, Health of the Sick, pray for Pope Leo.

Human trafficking has been described by the U.S. Department of Justice as the world’s second most profitable criminal enterprise, alongside illegal arms trafficking and behind drug trafficking.

It is a grave offense against human life and dignity.

Here in Kentucky, St. Anne’s House helps survivors rebuild through Catholic Charities of Louisville’s Bakhita Empowerment Initiative, offering four survivors housing for up to a year.

An incredible gift for our Nelson County neighbors! 💛

Thanks to a generous year-end donation from the Salvation Army’s Nelson County unit, our Bread for Life Food Pantry purchased 13,271 pounds of food: 15 pallets of meat, dry goods, and fresh produce.

This generosity helps us keep nutritious food on our neighbors’ tables. Thank you to the The Salvation Army USA for partnering with Catholic Charities to serve families in Nelson County!

Please join Catholic Charities of Louisville in praying for Pope Leo XIV as he prepares for surgery early this week to remove a small nodule from his lung.

The Holy Father announced the news today, Oct. 11, following the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square. He said the nodule was detected at a very early stage. The Vatican expects a hospital stay of approximately one week following surgery.

May God guide his medical team, grant him healing, and surround him with peace. Our Lady, Health of the Sick, pray for him. 🙏
