Re: The Sale of Louisville Middle School formerly known as Jefferson County High School (JCHS 1958-1970), Louisville High School (LHS 1971-1996) with the addition of Price Elementary School (1966-1970)
Dear Supporters,
The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners obtained ownership of the abovementioned property, Louisville Middle School from the Jefferson County Board of Education in December 2019. This institution has been a PILLAR of the county for 60 plus years. It is currently unoccupied. The Commissioners recently reported in the News & Farmer and confirmed by the Commissioners that the property will be put up for sell. Jefferson County Civic & Unification Association, Inc. (JCCUA), a non-profit organization, was created to preserve and restore the history and legacy of the building that played such a pivotal role in the lives of thousands of students, teachers and administrators that passed through its hallways. JCCUA envisions creating a Multipurpose Complex that will provide educational and business opportunities for the current citizens and future generations of Jefferson County. JCCUA will submit a bid to purchase/acquire the building. Purchasing the property and
transforming the vision into reality requires volunteering of services and financial support. The immediate need now is the financial support. Please spread the word to your family and friends and ask them to make a financial contribution. We can make this happen!
