🌟Meet the Formation Team: Shari Baughman, Membership Chair🌟

We're excited to introduce Shari Baughman, Membership Chair for the ABWA Derby City Charter Chapter!

Professionally, Shari serves as Development & Outreach Director for Blueprint 502, where she brings more than 25 years of nonprofit development and communications experience to the table. She leads fundraising, corporate partnerships, donor relations, and community engagement efforts — all rooted in connecting people, businesses, and civic leaders with opportunities to invest in their community.

As Membership Chair, Shari is passionate about cultivating long-term partnerships, mentoring emerging professionals, and building the kind of systems that help a community last. She believes every meaningful relationship has the potential to become a catalyst for positive change — and that's exactly the spirit she's bringing to growing our chapter. Her hope is that every woman who joins Derby City finds not just a membership, but a genuine connection.

This is just the beginning, and we can't wait to share more of the incredible women helping bring Derby City Charter Chapter to life.

Did you know 80% of professional women say networking is vital to career success? And yet, so many of us still hesitate to reach out, strike up a conversation, or ask for that introduction.

💼 First meeting success! 💼

We are officially off the ground! Our inaugural Business Women’s Association (ABWA) - Derby City Charter Chapter meeting exceeded all expectations, bringing together nearly 30 dynamic professionals dedicated to leadership, education, and networking.

The room was buzzing with conversation, fresh ideas, and a shared vision for professional growth. (And of course, some lucky winners going home with some official ABWA swag was the perfect bonus! 🎁)

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a successful launch, especially Rachelle Jamerson Holmes who answered all of our questions about membership and forming this chapter. We are building a powerful community here, and we can’t wait to see it grow.
