Heidi is one of the reasons this chapter is coming together with so much heart.

By day, she's the Data & Finance Analyst at Blueprint502, working behind the scenes so young adults across our community have something too many people take for granted: safe, stable housing. It's quiet work, but it's the kind that changes the trajectory of someone's life.

Heidi made Louisville home in September 2025, trading Port St. Lucie's beaches for the Bluegrass State... and from what we can tell, she hasn't looked back. She spends her days building stronger futures for Kentucky's youth, and now she's helping build something new for the women of this city too.

We're so glad she said yes. Welcome to the family, Heidi.

Here's something we love about ABWA: your work doesn't go unnoticed.

Recognition is built right into membership: from Woman of the Year and Top Ten Business Woman to the Inner Circle and Apex Award. These aren't just titles. They're ABWA's way of saying we see the work you're putting in, and it matters.

Our second meeting is officially in the books! 💛

We gathered at Smoketown Community Center for an evening of great conversation, real connection, and a little wisdom from our guest speaker, Erin Rasinen.

Erin shared her most effective sales tactics — and what struck us is that they're really just good rules for being a good human:

🌻 Feedback is a gift.
🌻 You have to make deposits before you can make withdrawals.
🌻 Relationships create opportunities.
🌻 The best salespeople aren't selling something — they're solving something.

That last one hit home for a room full of women building businesses on trust, service, and showing up for each other.

Meet Megan Flynn — Derby City Member #19.

Megan found her way to us through Derby City Formation Team member Laurie Dobbins, and she came looking for something we suspect a lot of women are looking for at one point or another:

New connections. New people. Maybe a few new friends. And a place that feels like yours.

Well, Megan… pull up a chair. We’ve got one. 😉

Last night, she joined a room full of women talking, laughing, learning, exchanging ideas and making connections, and decided she wanted to be part of what we're building.

And THAT is exactly what Derby City is supposed to be about.

A place to grow professionally, absolutely. But also a place to show up, meet women you might never have met otherwise, build real connections, and maybe find a few people who become your people.

Meet the Formation Team: Lynn Rippy 🌟

We are beyond proud to introduce Lynn Rippy, our Monthly Programming Chair here at ABWA Derby City Charter Chapter!

For more than four decades, Lynn has been a driving force for youth and community development right here in Louisville. As Founder and CEO of Blueprint 502, she's built one of Kentucky's most innovative organizations — one that meets young people and families where they are, addressing everything from education and workforce readiness to housing and mental health.

Lynn's work now reaches more than 3,800 young people every year, and in 2025 she brought a decade-long vision to life with the opening of the Smoketown Community Center — a true hub for connection, growth, and opportunity in one of Louisville's most historic neighborhoods.

We can't wait to see the energy and heart Lynn brings to our monthly programming as we build this chapter together. Welcome to the team, Lynn!
