Last week, our clinic team performed 221 spay and neuter surgeries, talk about a busy week! In fact, we did 78 cats on Wednesday alone😲

If you have an appointment this week, we are ready for your community cats to get surgery this Tuesday and Wednesday! Our team will be taking a much needed professional development day this Thursday, so no cats will be having surgery on Thursday 😻

Meet Pippi! 🖤

When Pippi arrived for her spay surgery, our medical team noticed severe lameness in one of her front legs.

An x-ray showed Pippi had a fractured humerus 🤕
In some cases, a fracture can heal with cage rest, so her activity has been restricted and she's been resting comfortably in her cozy kennel!

If her leg does not heal, she will have to have surgery to have it amputated. We know from experience that cats do fantastic with three legs- so we know Pippi will thrive no matter what! ♥️

Send Pippi lots of love and check back for updates!

On Monday, our volunteers and a team of fall break volunteers from the University of Louisville's Office of Service Learning and Civic Engagement sawed holes and stuffed almost 150 winter shelters.

We have 147 shelters ready for Winter Shelter Distribution on October 18th, starting at 10am at 3524 Newburg Rd! No RSVP needed, just show up ready to take home one shelter per vehicle. We will be handing these out until they are gone, so expect a line!

Thank you volunteers for your hard work stuffing, sawing, stacking and counting these winter shelters!

Bibble wants you to know today is DAF Day, the national giving day for Donor-Advised Funds!

One of the fastest-growing ways of giving, Donor-Advised Funds are investment accounts that allow you to designate nonprofit organizations as beneficiaries.

Any individual, couple, family, or business can open a DAF account at more than 1,000 providers across the country. Donors then make tax-deductible contributions to their DAF over time and distribute the funds to their favorite nonprofits whenever they choose.

Whether you open a new DAF or currently have one, we hope you consider designating Alley Cat Advocates for your support. A gift of any size makes a difference and helps beloved community cats like Bibble!

Today we're celebrating Angel's 1-year anniversary since joining our team as the Assistant Clinic Director! 🎉

Since Angel has arrived at Alley Cat Advocates, she has been a major support towards the work our Clinic Director does on a day to day basis. She has made a huge impact in our clinic operations, and cares deeply for community cats.

She supports and leads the vet assistants, and cares for the cats by feeding them and administrating medications in our Further Care Needed Suite, Color Me Special Suite, Kitten Nursery, and office as directed by our Clinic Director and Veterinarians. She also assists on Tuesdays - Thursdays in surgery, floating between the prep station, sedation station, and floating support in clinic.

Thank you, Angel, for your compassion, dedication, and team player spirit! We are grateful to have you on the Alley Cat Advocates team! 💙🐾

We have less than 100 nacho trays left, which is not nearly enough to feed the cats getting surgery this week.

Nacho trays are purrfect for our process, because they hold just the right amount of food and water. The cats in our care are given to 2-4 nacho tray meals during their two day stay with us, making these trays one of the most-used supplies at the Community Cat Complex.
