The Beta Gamma chapter of Delta Zeta was founded in 1928 and has a rich tradition at the University o Delta Zetas are extremely involved on campus.

Delta Zeta Sorority was founded on October 24, 1902 at Miami University in Oxford, OH. The sorority is bases on a heritage of core values, academic excellence, leadership development, and service to others. Delta Zeta was founded by six young college women; Alfa Lloyd, Anne Simmons, Anna Keen, Mary Collins, Mabelle Minton and Julia Bishop. Delta Zeta Grand Patron is Dr. Guy Potter Benton of the Ph

i Delta Theta Fraternity. Miami is called the “Mother of Fraternities” as Sigma Chi, Phi Kappa Tau, Phi Delta Theta and Beta Theta Pi Fraternities were also at Miami University in addition to Delta Zeta. Since the time of our founding at U of L, Delta Zeta has been one of the strongest sororities at the University of Louisville winning awards, year after year, for outstanding involvement and leadership. In addition Delta Zeta has received many awards on the National Level including the Delta Zeta Council Award, which is given to the #1 DZ chapter in the nation. Many have served on the Student Government Association, Student Activities Board, Cardinal Host, Student Orientation Staff (SOSers), Cardinal Ambassadors (campus tour guides) and in many service organizations as well. Many members are also part of exclusive academic honor societies.

"This past week at Miss Kentucky was nothing short of unforgettable. As my first year competing in the Miss division after years in the Teen program, I walked into this experience with excitement, nerves, and an open heart. Being named a Top 12 finalist and a Quality of Life Award finalist was an incredible honor, but even more meaningful was the growth I experienced along the way.

As one of the youngest competitors, I pushed myself beyond what I thought I was capable of and came out stronger, more confident, and so proud of how far I’ve come. I am endlessly grateful for the sisterhood, support, and love that surrounded me throughout this journey. This week reminded me why I fell in love with this organization in the first place—it’s about so much more than a title. My heart is so full, and I am beyond excited for what’s ahead."

We are so honored to be recognized by the Fraternity/Sorority Life office this week at U of L during the FSL Award ceremony for the following: Outstanding Community Service, Commitment to Academic Excellence, Commitment to Inclusion and Belonging, and Outstanding Community Relations. Haylee Allen and Zoe Beck won the Presidential Service award, Adeola Esan won the outstanding senior award, and Ashley Nevison won the spirit of service individual award along with Emma Sears who won Advisor of the Year!
