Happy LGBTQ+ History Month! We can’t talk about where we’re going without honoring how we got here 💜

This month, we’re highlighting Louisville’s own LGBTQ+ trailblazers, local milestones, and the roots of our organization. Keep an eye on our feed all month long for local stories, archive deep-dives, and updates. Every block in this city holds a story of someone who paved the way for our community to exist today.

What’s a piece of local q***r history you think more people should know about?

What a week ahead! 🍳

We've got both a hands-on cooking class and our annual youth empowerment camp happening over the next few days. On Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM, our Tween Group (ages 9–13) is taking over the Lee Initiative Test Kitchen for a cooking class.

Then Friday through Sunday is our annual Teen Empowerment Camp ⛺ registration is closed for this one, but we are so ready for an amazing weekend with the campers!

We are completely blown away.

Because of 147 incredible supporters, we officially raised $13,674 during Give for Good Louisville!

Every single dollar goes right back into our mission. This money keeps youth center open, funds our weekly support groups, and ensures our programming stays 100% free for local LGBTQ+ youth. You are directly helping us build brave, affirming spaces where young people in our city can show up as their authentic selves and thrive.

A huge thank you to the Community Foundation of Louisville for bringing our city together for this day of giving, and to everyone who donated, shared our posts, and cheered us on over the last 24 hours.

We could not do this work without our community standing right beside us 🩷🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

For 36 years, Louisville Youth Group has been built by and for our community. 💜

Today, youth walk through our doors and find staff, mentors, and board members who once sat in those very same peer groups. That shared lived experience builds a level of trust, care, and safety that spans generations.

When you support LYG, you’re investing in a legacy of care that comes full circle.
