A huge thank you to Rep. Morgan McGarvey for visiting LYG this afternoon!

It was an honor to welcome Representative McGarvey into our space and introduce him to some of the incredible members of our Youth Leadership Council. Advocacy starts at the local level, and today, our youth had the floor. They shared their ideas, discussed their lived experiences, and voiced their visions for a more supportive and inclusive Louisville.

Representative McGarvey truly held space for our young leaders to speak directly to the issues that matter most to them. It demonstrated to our YLC that when we invest in our youth and give them a seat at the table, we build a stronger community for everyone.

Still smiling thinking about yesterday! We had the absolute best time pulling double duty at Southern Indiana Pride's Family Zone and Latinx Pride.

Thank you to the organizers of both festivals for creating such affirming, joyful spaces for our communities to gather 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Looking through these photos of kids playing under the trees and our team sharing resources just reminds us how lucky we are to do this work.

To our volunteers, staff, and community members who showed up to help us bring our mission to life across both sides of the river: you are amazing. Thank you for your energy, your time, and your big hearts. We love our LYG family! 💙
