What an incredible evening it was at the 3rd Annual Julius “Red” Edelen Scholarship Gala: A Night Under the Stars.

On behalf of the TNBC Louisville-Metro Chapter, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, and supported this year’s gala. Because of your generosity and commitment, we continue to invest in the future of deserving students and help create opportunities that will impact lives for years to come.

This year’s event allowed us to celebrate and honor the remarkable legacy of Senator Gerald Neal, whose decades of service, leadership, and dedication to our community continue to inspire us all.

We were also honored to hear a powerful message from our keynote speaker, Pastor Tim Findley, whose words challenged us to continue serving, leading, and uplifting those around us.

A special thank you to Pastor Corrie Shull for delivering the evening’s prayer and invocation and to Pat Mathison for sharing her extraordinary vocal talents, helping make the evening truly unforgettable.

We were grateful to be joined by distinguished guests including:

Prior to the joyous festivities, we were honored to host our second Annual Town Hall meeting with esteemed Congressman Morgan McGarvey and visionary Kentucky Democratic nominee Charles Booker. Both distinguished guests demonstrated remarkable candor in addressing every question, providing insight into critical issues such as the restoration of the Voting Rights Act and expressing sincere appreciation for the black community's voting bloc, particularly the unwavering dedication of black female voters. Additionally, they highlighted Charles's exceptional reception in Kentucky. The TNBC Louisville-Metro Chapter expresses its profound gratitude to Charles and Congressman McGarvey for sharing their expertise and inspiring our Chapter.

I want to say thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, scholarship recipients, honored guests, and every person who joined us tonight. Your support helps us continue our mission of investing in education and creating opportunities for future generations.

Tonight wasn’t just about celebrating accomplishments, it was about building a legacy. Every scholarship awarded and every dollar raised represents a belief in someone’s future.

If tonight inspired you, I hope you’ll join us again next year. Mark your calendars for June 5, 2027, as we return for the 4th Annual Julius “Red” Edelen Scholarship Gala. We plan to make it even bigger, reach even more students, and continue the work that brings us together.

Until then, thank you for believing in this mission, thank you for supporting our students, and thank you for being part of the Julius “Red” Edelen legacy.
