Bonnafon Webster Incorporated (BWI) was founded in October 2011 to offer encouragement and support to children under child protective services during the Christmas holiday. Children who were unable to visit with their families celebrated with Santa Clause, a hot breakfast, entertainment, a family atmosphere, and a bag full of gifts. BWI partnered with ministries in Louisville, KY, and Mount Vernon, NY, to bring the outreach event to fruition. Since the first Christmas outreach event, BWI has spent the last ten years establishing initiatives and partnering with various community organizations to support individuals and families needing hope, encouragement, and developmental resources within local and global communities. The organization is named after patriarchs Larry M. and Allen T. Webster, who both had leadership presence, charismatic qualities, and exemplified supportive contributions to the Louisville community.

​Bonnafon Webster Incorporated was legally formed into a nonprofit organization on February 24, 2021, in Louisville, KY. BWI is a family organized and led nonprofit community, educational, social, and economic development incorporation dedicated to building and distributing resources to advance human, social, and physical development in the communities where our families live and serve.

Bonnafon Webster Incorporated proudly announces the 2026 Nina’s Wings Mother’s Day Honorees. In honor of the memory of Renita “Nina” Bonnafon Booth, young mothers are nominated and selected each year to receive recognition, mentoring, and encouragement as they pursue their educational goals and dreams—despite the challenges they face daily.

This year’s honorees are graduating from high school in Louisville, KY, and are preparing to further their education as they step boldly into their vocational callings. We celebrate their strength, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to building a brighter future for themselves and their children.

We honor and congratulate these remarkable young women for turning adversity into purpose and vision into reality.

Bonnafon Webster Incorporated will be accepting nominations for the 2026 Nina's Wings Mother's Day Honors in April 2026. In honor of the memory of Renita "Nina" Bonnafon Booth, young mothers are nominated and selected each year to receive recognition, mentoring, and encouragement in pursuing their dreams against all odds.

Nominees must be enrolled in school, exhibit academic perseverance, and desire to pursue their goals for themselves and their child(ren).

Black History Month Spotlight | Louisville Fire Department

In December 1955, Larry Bonnafon joined the Louisville Fire Department at just 18 years old, becoming the youngest recruit in our history. Through dedication, leadership, and groundbreaking service, he rose through the ranks to become the department’s first and to this day, only Black Fire Chief.

Chief Bonnafon led with distinction from 1979 until his retirement in 1986, paving the way for future generations and leaving a legacy of excellence that continues to inspire us.

Today, we honor his service, his leadership, and his lasting impact on the Louisville Fire Department.
