Join us tomorrow for our August Program: Liminal Apartments Hard Hat Tour!

Location: 1416 Lytle Street, Louisville, KY 40203

Time: 5:30 - 6:30 pm
AIA Credit: 1 AIA LU - HSW

Originally built in 1905 and 1911, the nearly 165,000 sf Louisville Lead & Paint Company factory and warehouse buildings located in the Portland neighborhood of Louisville are being transformed through a comprehensive adaptive reuse and historic preservation effort. The project converts the former industrial complex into 137 residential units and more than 20,000 square feet of commercial and amenity space, balancing contemporary living requirements with the preservation of the buildings’ historic fabric.

Please note PPE (Hardhat & closed toed shoes) will be required as this is an active construction site. AIA/CKC will have a handful of hard hats available for use for those that do not bring their own.

It was a successful film night at the Speed Cinema last week, complete with popcorn and cocktails! It was a great turnout for local design professionals and members of the public to meet to view the Sitting Still documentary and connect together to discuss historical urban issues and human connection to nature through design. Thank you to the Speed Museum, ASLA, and APA for partnering with the AIA/CKC to bring this event to life! Thank you also to members of Laurie Olin’s studio for participating in a panel discussion following the movie. Incredibly insightful!

This year will be bigger than ever as we look to host over 100 architects along with family and friends for a fun social time on the courts.
