White folks really digging through COINTELPRO propaganda—manufactured by a racist federal program whose stated goal was to destroy Black liberation movements—to discredit Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. so they can prop up Charlie Kirk is wild… but not surprising.

Let’s be honest about the source.
J. Edgar Hoover was a racist, authoritarian thug who used the power of the state to spy on, smear, blackmail, and terrorize Black leaders. He tried to break MLK psychologically and literally pushed him toward suicide—while living a secret life that contradicted every moral judgment he projected onto others. A hypocrite. A bigot. A political criminal.

And now, decades later, white folks are resurrecting Hoover’s lies as “evidence” to tear down MLK—while elevating Charlie Kirk. That’s not research. That’s white supremacist recycling.

The truth is simple: Hoover and Kirk are cut from the same cloth. Divisive. Racist. Reactionary. Men whose influence thrives on fear, lies, and hatred of Black liberation.

MLK’s legacy is peace with justice. Liberation with love. Truth with courage. Hoover’s legacy is repression. Kirk’s legacy is provocation.

They don’t belong in the same sentence—let alone the same moral universe.

So miss me with Hoover’s files, COINTELPRO talking points, and bad-faith comparisons.

History already rendered its verdict. And no amount of propaganda will ever turn hate into holiness or racism into righteousness.

Black History Month Book Giveaway at Western Library


Stop by the historic Western Library (10th & Chestnut) this Tuesday, February 23, from 4 to 6 p.m., and help us celebrate Black History Month by picking up a FREE children's book! Books are for preschool - 5th grade and most feature characters and historical people from diverse backgrounds. Books will be given at curbside - no appointment necessary.
