Today, we recognize Allison S., Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC).
Allison’s steady leadership, creativity, and commitment help create meaningful experiences for both our team members and the children we serve.
"As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Home of the Innocents, I love that I have the opportunity to think outside the box every day.
Many of the residents I work with are unable to interact with toys or objects in traditional ways due to their various medical complexities.
My job is to get creative and find ways to adapt therapeutic activities to meet each resident’s individual needs.
While this can certainly be challenging, seeing the smiles on their faces when they are able to participate and be a part of something is incredibly rewarding.
Knowing that I can help create meaningful experiences and moments of joy for the residents is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job."
