Programs include residential and community-based behavioral health services, therapeutic foster care and adoption services, supportive services for young adults experiencing homelessness, and long-term care for children with complex medical needs.

Show Mayghin some love! 👏

Today, we recognize Mayghin L., Grant Writer on our Engagement team.

With less than 10 days' notice, Mayghin led a major Department of Homeland Security funding application to a successful, on-time submission—coordinating stakeholders across Facilities, Security, and our Executive Team.

Her composure under pressure and ownership of the process reflect our core values at their best.

"One of the things I love most about working at the Home is getting to see just how many incredible people it takes to care for our kids and families.

I’m not the person doing those incredible things every day, but through my work, I get to have a little piece of all of it.

I get to learn about what my coworkers are doing, tell their stories, and help find the funding that gives them the resources to keep doing it.

There’s something really special about knowing that a grant I worked on might help buy a piece of medical equipment, send a kid on an outing, support a parenting class, or give a teenager the tools they need to step into adulthood with a little more confidence.

The staff and volunteers here impact lives in countless ways, and I have the incredibly cool job of helping them continue to pay for it all!"

Show Maddie some love! 💞

Today, we recognize Maddie T., Multisystemic Therapy (MST) Supervisor with our Community Services team.

From therapist to supervisor, Maddie has built an MST program where the team feels supported, held to high standards, and encouraged to grow.

She also models the wellness she asks of her team, proving that sustainable self-care and strong performance go hand in hand.

"My favorite thing I do at the home every day is collaborate with my team members to make sure we are providing the best care to the families in the MST program.

When the weather is nice we will take our meetings outside and walk around our beautiful campus!"

Today, we recognize LaShawna E., Resident Enrichment Specialist with our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC).

"What I love most about my role at Home of the Innocents is the opportunity to work for such a great organization, but especially being part of the Resident Enrichment Department.

It is a fun, caring, and rewarding department to work in.

What I love most about my work with the kids is being able to make a difference in their day. I enjoy seeing them participate in activities, use adaptive equipment and toys, go on field trips, and attend the many different events we have throughout the year.

Watching their faces light up, seeing them smile, interact with others, and enjoy something they truly love brings me so much happiness.

Our residents being kids and young adults with complex needs, I love that Resident Enrichment works hard to give them opportunities to experience life just like other children.

We want them to have fun, make choices, explore, participate, and create memories.

We help provide experience that allows them to enjoy childhood and feel included.

I have also developed a special connection and bond with each of the kids.

I know them personally- their personalities, interests, likes, and the things that make them happy.

I look forward to coming to work and seeing them because they truly make my day.

What means the most to me is knowing that I can make a difference, even on a difficult day.

Sometimes all it takes is an activity, a smile, encouragement, or simply spending time with them to help turn their day around.

I love these kids, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their lives and help create moments that bring them happiness."

LaShawna brings warmth and energy to every interaction and goes further, giving her own time to cut and style residents' hair so they feel confident heading back to school.

That's excellence and wellness, lived out in the small moments that matter most.

Our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC) provides 24/7 long-term and respite care to children and young adults with complex medical needs.

As the only center of our kind in the Kentucky region, our team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and aides works closely with families and caregivers to tailor groundbreaking care to each youth.
