Thank You, Louisville! πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ’™

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Mayor’s Hike, Bike & Paddle! We are so grateful to have been part of such an incredible community event focused on health, wellness, and safety.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers who helped make the day such a success. Your time, energy, and dedication made a real difference.

Thanks to your support, the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky was able to provide 300 properly fitted bicycle helmets to children and families in our community β€” an important step in advancing our mission of brain injury prevention through education, awareness, and safety initiatives.

Every helmet represents more than just protection β€” it represents prevention, opportunity, and our shared commitment to keeping Kentuckians safe.

Thank you for helping us make an impact. Together, we are creating a safer, healthier Kentucky. πŸ’™

🌟 Survivor Spotlight: Rob Baugh 🌟

This May, the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky is honored to spotlight brain injury survivor Rob Baugh and share his inspiring journey of resilience, healing, and hope.

Rob’s life changed in a single unexpected moment. While entering a doorway, a bee suddenly flew near his head. Allergic to bees, he instinctively je**ed away and struck his head on the door, knocking himself unconscious and suffering a severe head laceration that required staples.

What seemed like a brief accident became a life-changing brain injury.

β€œBrain injuries don’t always come from dramatic situations,” Rob shares. β€œThey can happen to anyone, anywhere, in a single unexpected moment.”

Recovery brought challenges that were often invisible to others β€” fatigue, frustration, changes in thinking, and rebuilding confidence. One of Rob’s greatest breakthroughs came when he stopped trying to become the person he was before his injury and began embracing the person he was becoming.

Through faith, humor, creative expression, and connecting with others, Rob found healing and purpose in sharing his story.

His message to others:
πŸ’™ β€œYour life still has value. Your story still matters. Even when recovery feels slow or invisible, growth is happening.”

Thank you, Rob, for courageously sharing your journey and helping others feel less alone.
