UPDATE on What's happening with Veterans Guardian as of 8/3/2026

A federal judge just ruled that Veterans Guardian VA Claim Consulting broke the law by charging veterans fees to help with VA disability claims, without being accredited by the VA to do that work in the first place. The court found the company kept doing this even after the VA told them to stop, twice (2019 and 2024). Veterans paid Guardian over $250 million in fees during the years covered by this case.

The judge has now said: yes, this was illegal, and yes, Guardian is on the hook. What hasn't been decided yet is exactly how much money Guardian will have to pay back. That part, and one more piece of the case, still has to be worked out, likely in the months ahead.

Bottom line for members: if you're using a claims consultant, check that they're VA accredited.

The Primary KY VFW State Service Office at the Louisville VA Regional Benefits Office will be closed Wednesday, July 22nd thru Sunday August 2nd. Admin and catch up operations will start on Monday, August 3rd.

The Department photographer Robert Bracken will be taking pictures, to be placed on the Department's website. I ask that if you don't own a suit, please at least wear a collared shirt. This is what our members, other Departments, and the public sees when they look at our website. Let's try to show everyone how professional Kentucky is.
