Sacred Earth Community Garden

🌱 EARLY GIVING IS OPEN — AND SACRED EARTH IS LIVE! 🌱

This Give for Good Louisville, we're asking our community to help us Plant a Seed. Grow a Future.

Our goal is $40,000, and every dollar helps us continue creating a place where young people can work, earn, learn, lead, heal, and belong.

Your seed will help grow:

🌱 $18,000 — Paid YUG Stipends
Paid educational and workforce-development opportunities for up to 20 Young Urban Growers.

✈️ $8,000 — YUGs to BUGs
Help send our YUGs to Dillard University in New Orleans for an educational experience beyond the garden.

❄️ $5,000 — Youth Gym HVAC
A new system so our youth have a healthy, comfortable space for wellness and year-round programming.

🌻 $5,000 — Sustain the Leadership
Supporting the leadership that keeps our youth, partnerships, programs, and operations growing.

💡 $4,000 — Protect Youth Programming
Helping offset an unexpected utility expense so those dollars don't have to come out of youth programming.

We're also growing toward sustainability through our Sacred Earth Fresh Farm Stand—creating opportunities for fresh-food access, youth entrepreneurship, workforce training, and earned income right here in our community.

The job may introduce young people to Sacred Earth. The relationships keep them connected.

Hello, The Gas company sent me a 4K corrected gas bill, telling me their meter had not registered me a bill from 2024-2026, and there is nothing I could do about it. Please help me raise money to pay the bill! Thanks for your support! Or Zelle, & PayPal or https://cash.app/$SacredEarthCG

Family, I want to be real with you for a moment.
For the past two years, LG&E was not properly metering our gas usage at Sacred Earth Community Garden. We had no idea anything was wrong. Then suddenly, we were hit with a bill for nearly $4,000 and told it had to be paid or our utilities would be shut off.
I did everything I could—I asked for it to be prorated, and they agreed to spread it over 24 months. But even with that, it adds about $300 extra to a bill that is already high.
And the truth is… we just can’t carry that alone.
Sacred Earth isn’t just a garden. It’s a safe space, a learning space, and a place where our community comes to grow, heal, and connect. Losing utilities would impact everything we’ve built.
So I’m asking for help.
We launched a Double Good popcorn fundraiser where 50% of every purchase comes back to us. If you can support by buying popcorn, sharing the flyer, or making a donation—it truly means everything.

In emergency, we stand together. And I believe in this community.
Thank you for standing with us 💚🌱
