Family, I want to be real with you for a moment.
For the past two years, LG&E was not properly metering our gas usage at Sacred Earth Community Garden. We had no idea anything was wrong. Then suddenly, we were hit with a bill for nearly $4,000 and told it had to be paid or our utilities would be shut off.
I did everything I could—I asked for it to be prorated, and they agreed to spread it over 24 months. But even with that, it adds about $300 extra to a bill that is already high.
And the truth is… we just can’t carry that alone.
Sacred Earth isn’t just a garden. It’s a safe space, a learning space, and a place where our community comes to grow, heal, and connect. Losing utilities would impact everything we’ve built.
So I’m asking for help.
