Make a point to visit these four new restaurants on Bardstown Road in the Highlands!

- Cipollini (1606 Bardstown Road)
- Helm & Honey (1359 Bardstown Road)
- The Dining Room (1576 Bardstown Road)
- Prado 264 (1514 Bardstown Road)

The Highlands has always been a place where culture, creativity, and community meet—and right now, it’s having a moment.

Four new restaurants within four blocks on Bardstown Road isn’t just a headline—it’s a signal. A signal that local chefs are investing here. Small businesses believe in this corridor. That our neighborhoods can be both vibrant and welcoming when we get the balance right.

From modern Italian at Cipollini to a Creole tasting experience at The Dining Room, to the bold fusion of Prado 264 and the elevated comfort of Helm & Honey—we’re seeing entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, and hospitality come together in a way that strengthens our local economy.

As we continue to work on issues like safety, walkability, and quality of life along Bardstown Road, this is exactly the kind of growth we should be leaning into—thoughtful, community-rooted, and full of opportunity.

Love this article, LEO Weekly! The pictures are lovely and the quote from Elizabeth Kizito is fantastic.

"Local businesses have also reaped benefits from the redesign. Elizabeth Kizito, owner of Kizito Cookies, praised the project: “I love it, love it, love it. My customers now stop right there to pick up cookies without having to drive around the block to find a spot. It has helped my business. And the drivers seem to go slower and are more friendly now.”

An intersection once notorious for frequent crashes and pedestrian hazards has been transformed into a safer and more vibrant space, marking a significant improvement for the drivers in Louisville. This is the sort of work we do here at Friends of Bardstown Road.

These two issues (the melted garbage can and the car crash debris scattered on the ground) were items that we - here at Friends of Bardstown Road - identified and elevated to Block by Block and CM Ben Reno-Weber's office.

We appreciate their responsiveness and attending to these issues!

Opening December 2nd! "Levine said the partners were attracted to the Highlands location because of the foot traffic and the fact that there are no doughnut shops nearby, the nearest competition being the Krispy Kreme location at 3000 Bardstown Road."
