As we share the narrative of Mrs. Ada Doss Campbell we continue to welcome community members into this ongoing compassionate conversation.

Sincere thanks to Executive Director of the Portland Museum Katy Delahanty, Executive Director of Phoenix Global Humanitarian Foundation and Descendant, Dr. Renee Campbell and Interdisciplinary Artist and Founder of Elsz & O Storytelling Gallery Marlesha Sara for an insightful panel discussion.

The attendance and participation of every community member in-person and virtually over the years is phenomenal.

We are pleased to share with each of you that after over 20 years of research conducted by Dr. Campbell some of which was undergirded by Kentucky Foundation for Women, media support from WHAS11 News, WDRB News, Forward Radio, LEO Weekly, WAVE, Louisville MetroTV and additional collaborations with Kentucky State University, Frazier History Museum, Community Foundation of Louisville , University of Louisville, University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work Field Education, Spalding University School of Social Work, Shay McAlister, District 43 State Representative Canidate Joi McAtee, Representative Lisa Wilner, Representative Joni Jenkins, Dr. Lynetta W. Mathis, LCSW, Dr. Mindy Brooks-Eaves, Professor Tony Helm, John Nation, Dr.John Miller, Mayor Greg Fischer, Deputy Barbara Sexton-Smith, The The Mrs. Ada Doss Campbell Movement Dream Team, Mental Health America of Kentucky, Muhammad Ali Center, World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, KMAC Contemporary Art Museum, the Doss Campbell Family, and many supportive community members there is no longer a service road leading to the unmarked graves of the historical "Strawberry Hill" cemetery at EP "Tom" Sawyer State Park but rather in a form of land repatriation and acknowledgment Mrs. Ada Doss Campbell Road is being paved!

We look forward to sharing additional restorative practices and repair work that Dr. Campbell, Kentucky State Parks and the Kentucky Tourism Arts and Heritage Cabinet will explore to ensure honor, dignity, belonging and community-education are established in this sacred space.

“Out of the Void” is a Community Conversation series that began in 2022. Our inaugural gathering was hosted at KMAC Contemporary Art Museum and warmly received by its Curator, Joey Yates. Diverse attendees across the Commonwealth of Kentucky were in attendance including civic, nonprofit and corporate leaders, mental health and medical professionals, professors, artists, social workers, advocates, and community voices. Additionally, WHAS11 News anchor and Journalist Shay McAlister was in attendance.

We are pleased to relaunch this dynamic community engagement with a fierce panel of trailblazing women dedicated to advocacy. Their life's work independently and collectively challenges the status quo.

Join this transformative and immersive experience with Panelist and Descendant, Executive Director of Phoenix Global Humanitarian Foundation and Sub-Chief of Tolon-Ghana Dr. Renee Maltinaa Ann Campbell, Panelist and Executive Director of Portland Museum Katy Delahanty, and Moderator and CEO of Elsz & O Storytelling Gallery Marlesha Sara.

During this upcoming conversation an exploration of the impact of human erasure will spark discussion and amplify the powerful narrative of the late Mrs. Ada Doss Campbell, a Kentucky narrative worth preserving 85 years after her untimely death in 1940.

Through advocacy her story has changed history, land acknowledgment and land use at EP "Tom" Sawyer State Park; for the first time publicly we will share this restorative work.
