In less than two weeks, the National Parkinson’s Institute will be heading to World Parkinson Congress 2026 in Phoenix to present on our Parkinson’s Buddy Program — a collaborative initiative focused on fostering medical education, community connection, and empowerment for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. 🌷

What started as a simple idea rooted in human connection has grown into a program that is helping bridge the gap between future healthcare professionals and the Parkinson’s community through real relationships, lived experience, and hands-on learning.

To have this work recognized on a global stage alongside researchers, clinicians, advocates, and organizations from around the world is an incredible honor for our team and our community.

We are proud to represent Louisville, our Parkinson’s families, and the belief that movement is medicine, community is clinical, and collaboration matters.

Phoenix — we’ll see you soon. 🌷

The 2026 Red Tulip Gala: Underground Experience was truly unlike anything we’ve ever created before. Held inside the breathtaking Louisville Mega Cavern, the night brought together an incredible mix of individuals from across our community — people living with Parkinson’s, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, partners, supporters, friends, family, and community leaders — all united for one purpose: supporting the mission of the National Parkinson’s Institute.

From the immersive atmosphere and live entertainment to meaningful conversations, fundraising moments, and shared experiences, this evening was more than a gala — it was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with heart, purpose, and vision.

Every detail of Eric Richardson’s Vision for his Underground Experience was designed to feel unique, interactive, and memorable — because we believe events should create connection, spark emotion, and leave a lasting impact. Seeing so many people laughing, dancing, networking, and supporting one another throughout the cavern made the entire night incredibly special.

But Most importantly, this event helps support the free programs, education, wellness initiatives, advocacy efforts, and community services we provide year-round for individuals and families impacted by Parkinson’s disease.

To every sponsor, donor, volunteer, guest, performer, partner, and supporter — thank you. Your belief in our mission allows us to continue building something truly meaningful for the Parkinson’s community here in Louisville and beyond.

And to our Parkinson’s community: this night was for you. 🌷

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the National Parkinson’s Institute 🌷

Today, we celebrate the incredible mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who make such a lasting impact on our lives and our community. Your strength, compassion, resilience, and unconditional love inspire us every day.

To the mothers within our Parkinson’s community — thank you for the countless ways you care for, support, encourage, and uplift those around you. Whether you are a mother living with Parkinson’s, caring for a loved one, or simply serving as a source of comfort and guidance, your role is deeply valued and appreciated.

We hope today brings you love, joy, and time spent with the people who matter most. ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day from the NPI family.

Parkinson’s Awareness Month may be coming to a close… but the work is not. 🌷

April gives us a powerful opportunity to raise awareness, share education, and amplify the voices of those living with Parkinson’s disease — but Parkinson’s does not end when the month does.

At the National Parkinson’s Institute, we are committed year-round to providing free programs, community connection, education, advocacy, and support for individuals and families impacted by Parkinson’s.

Awareness is the beginning. Action is what keeps the movement going.

Join us as we continue building a stronger, more connected Parkinson’s community — this month and every month.

PD101: Parkinson’s & Exercise as Medicine 🌷

Exercise is one of the most powerful tools for people living with Parkinson’s disease. Research continues to show that regular movement can support balance, strength, mobility, mood, and overall quality of life.

From boxing and dance to pickleball, yoga, walking, and strength training — movement can look different for everyone, but staying active matters.

That’s why NPI offers free, community-based programs designed to keep people moving, connected, and supported.
