Today was one of those days that stays with you. As part of my work with Helping Hands Foundation of America, I had the privilege of visiting Home of the Innocents in Louisville to deliver clothing, hygiene items, and gift cards. While our donations were appreciated, what I received in return was something far greater—a new perspective. I was given a tour of their campus, and it was truly eye-opening. Seeing the complex care center, the residential housing, and the two JCPS school areas reminded me that this organization is so much more than a shelter. It's a place where children and families receive medical care, education, stability, compassion, and hope.
Every hallway, every bedroom, and every staff memeber shows what it means to serve with love and purpose.
There is such a great need, but there are also so many ways to make a difference. Whether it's volunteering your time, donating supplies, supporting their mission, or simply sharing their story, every act of kindness matters.
I'm grateful to everyone at Home of the Innocents for welcoming me and for the incredible work they do every single day. Thank you for allowing me to witness your mission firsthand. This visit reminded me why Helping Hands Foundation of America exists—to serve others, build community, and make an impact one act of kindness at a time. ❤️

Niki from Helping Hands Foundation of America recently had the opportunity to tour UP for Women and Children and deliver four seperate Welcome Home Baskets along with four 24 packs of water for women and children transitioning into stable housing.
These Welcome Home Baskets are filled with essential household items to help women start fresh as they move into their new homes with basic necessities. These baskets are filled with encouragement, and a new beginning. Niki's heart was truly full while putting these baskets together and seeing firsthand the impact they will have on the women receiving them.
UP for Women and Children is an incredible resource for women and children in our community. They provide access to showers, laundry facilities, transportation resources through TARC, assistance with obtaining important documents, housing support, and connections to many other life-changing services.
We are honored to support an organization that works tirelessly to empower women and children on their journey toward stability and independence. Together, we can continue making a difference, one family at a time.

Please join us in congratulating our May Raffle Winner, Adam Dixon!

Adam served 25 years in the United States Navy as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) from 1994–2019. Most of his career was spent in Mayport, serving aboard and repairing Frigates, Destroyers, and Cruisers. One of the highlights of his service was his four‑year tenure as Shopmaster for the Gas Turbine Shop/31T, a role he describes as one of the greatest honors of his career.

After retiring, Adam returned home to Ashtabula in 2020 and completed a nine‑month fine‑furniture program in Maine. Today, he is deeply involved in strengthening our veteran community through his work with:
