We are excited to welcome Karly Wisnyai as our new Northeast Ohio Regional Manager at Helping Hands Foundation of America.

Karly has always been passionate about helping others and being an advocate for those in need. She has worked in the community in multiple roles over the last decade, with special interests in mental health and helping kids and teens.

Karly grew up in Ashtabula County, and she personally understands the struggles that everyday families are facing here in our area. Karly has spent her life helping others through outreach, volunteer work, and her overall passion to make a difference.

We believe that Karly will be a great addition to our team at Helping Hands Foundation of America, and she is looking forward to make real change in our community.

Niki returned to Saint Bernadette Diaper Bank in Louisville KY. She was able to bring back a diaper donation of 1,711 individual diapers!
The Saint Bernadette Diaper Bank does incredible work right here in our community, providing thousands of diapers every month to families in need through their network of local partner agencies for over the last 13years.
They are always in need of diapers (especially larger sizes like 4, 5 and 6) and financial contributions to keep their shelves stocked. It is amazing to see how much work and time they put into helping the community.
If you are able to help, please consider dropping off a donation or reaching out to see how you can get involved. Every single diaper makes a difference! Schools, churches, and children can even host diaper drives or place diaper collection bins at their facilities!

TEEN SUCCESS PROGRAM
Today, Helping Hands Foundation of America was proud to deliver a donation to Iroquois High School to help restock part of their hygiene closet with a need that can be easy for many of us to overlook: undergarments for girls. We sent over about 100 pairs.
It may seem like something small but we should never take for granted something we use daily. It is a NEED not a want. I am proud of the resource staff in these schools stepping up and making sure these kids get what they need. It is admirable. For a teenager, not having access to clean, properly fitting undergarments can affect much more than comfort. Girls who don't have consistent access to menstrual hygiene supplies can also face embarrassment, discomfort and missed school. UNICEF notes that poverty and lack of menstrual hygiene resources can interfere with girls' ability to participate fully in school. Sometimes we take the simplest things for granted.
A package of underwear.
A bottle of shampoo.
Deodorant.
Toothpaste.
Soap.
Period products.
They're ordinary things—until you don't have them. That's why school hygiene closets matter. They give students a discreet place to receive necessities without having to explain their family's circumstances to their classmates.
We are grateful to partner with schools like Iroquois High School and support the students they serve through our Teen Success Program. Because helping a teenager succeed isn't always about providing something big. Sometimes, it's simply making sure they have the basic things they need to walk into school feeling clean, comfortable, confident and cared for. ❤️

This month Niki had the chance to visit the St Bernadette Diaper Bank in Louisville KY. She met Deanna and her husband Chris who were very friendly, extremely passionate, and full of knowledge during the tour. Niki experienced volunteers wrapping diaper donations that have came in. She got to see stocked rooms. The next time she goes back to drop off a donation Oct 5th those rooms will be much emptier due to how many diapers are sent out on distribution days.

Helping Hands Foundation of America is excited to bring our Teen Success Program to our first school. We are proud to partner with Iroquois High School in Louisville, Kentucky! Our new teen success programs has one goal in mind: help remove the barriers that can stand between students and their success.
We understand that what happens outside of the classroom can have a major impact on a student’s ability to focus, learn, participate, and feel confident at school. Sometimes, something as simple as not having school clothes, shoes, hygiene products, transportation, or the funds for an activity can become a much bigger obstacle for a student and their family.
Through our partnership with Iroquois High School and many more schools to come, Helping Hands Foundation of America will work alongside counselors, social workers, Family Resource Coordinators, and student support staff to help address unmet basic needs, depending on available funding.
Assistance may include:

🍎 Overdue school lunch balances
👕 School clothes, uniforms & shoes
🏀 Sports fees & athletic uniforms
💻 iPad, Chromebook & textbook fees
💃 Prom attire
🚌 TARC bus passes

🩷 Feminine hygiene products and more.
We also hope to help establish or maintain a stocked hygiene closet at the school, giving students access to everyday essentials when they need them.
We believe students shouldn't have to worry about whether they can afford the basic things they need to participate in school or feel comfortable among their peers. Our mission is to remove those barriers so students can focus on being students and reaching their full potential.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Iroquois High School and its dedicated team of educators and support staff. We look forward to building a partnership that makes a real difference for students and families in our Louisville community.
Sometimes, a little help can change a student's entire day. Sometimes, it can change their future. That's what Helping Hands is all about.

💙 Bringing Smiles to Children at Akron Children’s Hospital 💙
Tim and Linda with Helping Hands Foundation of America recently took the time to purchase gifts and make a special donation to Akron Children’s Hospital.
A hospital stay can be scary and overwhelming for a child, which is why something as simple as a toy can make such a meaningful difference. Donations can help ease a child’s fears before medical procedures, celebrate a birthday, provide comfort during a difficult time, or simply brighten their day and bring a smile to their face.
Every act of kindness, big or small, can bring comfort and joy to someone who truly needs it. Tim and Linda’s hearts are filled with compassion and love as they are able to provide this donation to children facing difficult times. Their hope is that these gifts will bring comfort, joy, and a little extra happiness, helping make a child’s hospital stay feel just a little bit easier.

Today, Helping Hands Foundation of America is honored to donate to COSA – Community Outreach of St. Athanasius.
Summer can be one of the hardest times of the year for families. With children home from school, grocery bills increase, and many households face added financial strain. We believe every family deserves to know there is a place to turn during difficult times.
COSA is a ministry that responds to calls from our community, carefully reviewing each request to determine how they can best help. Whether it's providing food, assisting with rent or utility bills, or connecting families with ongoing resources. They are committed to meeting basic needs with compassion and dignity.
We are grateful for the work they do every day to support our community, and we are proud to support a ministry that brings help to families when they need it most.
