Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom.
Grateful for the quiet moments, this land, and the sacrifices that made them possible.

They say April showers bring May flowers…
but this storm brought us something even sweeter.

Welcome to the world, little one.

Part of the ongoing impact rescue and rehabilitation can have.

Some stories continue long after rescue.
This little guy was once part of our rehabilitation journey before being adopted out for a very special purpose .
He’s been back with us for a short vacation while serving as an educational ambassador with the Kentucky Derby Museum,a role that allows even more people to experience the connection animals can create.
Seeing where his story has led has been a really meaningful reminder that healing and purpose often continue far beyond the beginning stages of rescue.

Initially, we were only planning to take one.But because of how closely bonded they were, separating them was not an option.

So Ruby and Sweet Pea arrived together.

Ruby was known to be expecting. Sweet Pea… there was a possibility but weren’t entirely sure.

What we did know was that both girls needed time, patience, and space to settle in at their own pace.

So for a while, life here became quieter.Slower mornings. Long evenings in the barn. Learning routines, building trust, and simply letting them adjust.

And somewhere in the middle of all that quiet…something beautiful happened.

It’s been a little quiet here… but life hasn’t.

Behind the scenes, there’s been early mornings, long days, hard days, excitement, healing, growth, and new lives we’ve had the privilege to care for. We’ve continued rescuing, rehabbing, and learning more every day about the powerful connection between animals and emotional wellness.

In those quiet moments, we’re reminded why this work matters so much—and how deeply animals can support us in ways you don’t always see.❤️
