Earlier this week, we received a tactile chess set from famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. This chess set went with him on countless tours around the world. In a letter to us, Andrea eloquently explained why personal items like this one are so important to have in museums:

"I believe that the most precious objects, when entrusted to others, can aquire a new beneficial power. They carry with them the memory of what they once were and, at the same time, are given a different life, especially when they come into the hands of people and institutions deserving of respect and gratitude."

We can't wait for visitors to explore objects like this one in our museum experience!
