Derby City Colonels Louisville Chapter

Derby City Colonels Louisville Chapter The Kentucky Colonels is an independent, nonprofit organization with the purpose of aiding and promoting the Commonwealth and its citizens.

The Louisville Area Chapter of the Kentucky Colonels promotes its general mission to support charitable organizations and endeavors that serve our citizens while inspiring renewed engagement amongst fellow colonels residing within our chapter parameters. Membership to the the Louisville Area Chapter is open to anyone who has been commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel residing within a reasonable trav

el radius of its meeting location at 943 S. 1st Street, Louisville, Kentucky. The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels does not appoint or commission Kentucky Colonels. That can only be done by the sitting Governor of the Commonwealth. One recent Governor made this comment about the qualities he considered, “The name Kentucky Colonel has become synonymous with strength of character, leadership and dedication to the welfare of others. Just as Isaac Shelby declared his trusted militia members to be his Kentucky Colonels, I see in you those things that place others above self.”

To obtain a Kentucky Colonel Commission, a nomination must be submitted to the Governor. Click here to download an application: https://secure.kentucky.gov/formservices/Governor/KentuckyColonelCommission

Hon. KY Colonel Sandra Breit does some amazing work helping people in need.
Including showing up to volunteer at the KY Colonel’s Day of Service. Thank you Sandy for always supporting our community!

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Sandy Breit ✨
On this Volunteer Appreciation Month, we wanted to showcase someone who shows up with heart.

From music and dance moves to moments of true care, she brings joy to every Mobile Pantry. But more than that, Sandy sees people, and goes above and beyond to make sure every neighbor feels valued.

💚 Sandy, thank you for turning service into community and kindness into action!

Don’t fall for this scam

SCAM WARNING
HOKC Headquarters spoke with a Colonel this morning who’d received an automated call claiming that their “Kentucky Colonelship was being revoked due to misconduct.” They were directed to press a key "to dispute this.” This Colonel recognized this as a spam call.

We are sharing this because we know you treasure your commission as a Kentucky Colonel and don’t want anyone to get lured into whatever this caller had in mind.

Just hang up and mark the caller as spam. If it's a voicemail, mark as spam and delete the message.
