Thank you Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy and congratulations to this year’s winners and participants!

We are so pleased to announce the winners of the Tyler Gerth Memorial Photography contest!

This year, we conducted three photography hikes to help inspire everyone to capture incredible images of our Olmsted Parks.

Each time we gathered in the woods, on the prairie and along the hiking paths, we shared a common experience of wonder and artistry, just as Tyler did during his adventures behind the lens.

🕊️Five Years Since We Lost Tyler Gerth. On this day in 2020, Tyler was tragically and senselessly taken by gun violence in Louisville Ky. Choosing to use his passion for photography, Tyler wanted to document the historic protests for racial justice as they were unfolding.

He was more than an innocent bystander- he was a believer in unity, a seeker of truth, and a friend to all. In our grief, we made a promise: to turn pain into purpose.

Today through the Tyler Gerth Foundation, that promise lives on. From scholarships for youth photography programs, from community partnerships to education initiatives- we’re Building Equal Bridges in Tyler’s name. Tyler, your light still guides us. We miss you. We honor you. We continue the work. 💙
