This past weekend over 100 responders and volunteers answered the call to find one of our neighbors who had gone missing.

In total, search teams searched moderate to heavy wooded areas, open pastures, ponds, creeks, swamps, and countless abandoned vehicles and buildings for over 14 hours in order to bring our neighbor back home safely.

We thank each of the responding agencies for their passion and professionalism in brining this search to a happy ending. Mission Accomplished!

"A missing person can be one of the most terrifying moments in any family's life, and for first responders and search and rescue experts there is a desperate drive to want to bring the missing person home to their family as soon as possible. We are grateful for the North Carolina Emergency Management Search and Rescue Program in helping get the word out to experts who came from across the state to help us in this search and ultimately bring a happy ending to this family and our community," said, Nicholas Thorpe, Director of Franklin County Emergency Management Department.
