We have made significant strides in positively impacting the lives of numerous families by providing essential necessities such as food boxes, hot meals, we try to have a food giveaway each month, propane, sleeping bags, and blankets. We have also distributed Thanksgiving food boxes complete with turkeys and Christmas food boxes with hams. Additionally, we host an Easter event and distribute Easter baskets to each child, we teamed up with Kentucky State Police Post 9 Michael Coleman and distribute christmas gifts to the childrens hospital at PMC.
Over the years, we have undertaken various projects, but our most notable achievement is the Santa's Elevator event, where children had the opportunity to meet Santa and receive a gift after being transported to the North Pole and back to Louisa. This initiative showcases the power of community collaboration and the generosity of our sponsors, who helped bring this vision to life for the children, and we have formed new relationships along the way. We couldn’t accomplish any of this without the volunteers from the haunted hayride, which is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This is just a glimpse into the work that A Ray Of Hope does throughout the year. As we say, we don’t want to be the biggest; we just want to be the best at helping our community. We are grateful to our all of our sponsors and partners: House Representative Scott Sharp, Kentucky Power Foundation, US 23 Camper Sales, Christian Appalachian, Lawrence County Tourism, Vince Doty, Phil Carter, Paul Walker, Rick Blackburn, Eric Clevenger, Paintsville Lowe’s, Facing Hunger, and Dunlow Community Center. Hopefully we didn’t forget anyone 😂.
