Project Lifesaver is a national program used to help locate “at-risk” individuals that may wander from home and become lost. These individuals may suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders such as Dementia, as well as Autism and Down Syndrome. Project Lifesaver participants are required to wear a personalized transmitter which emits a tracking signal, every second, 24 hours a day. Once

the sheriff’s office has been notified that a participant has gone missing, specially trained officers can track this signal using a mobile locator tracking system.
