The Christmas spirit was with us today as we had our annual Christmas party. We dispensed with our regular business as we enjoyed great fun and fellowship. Co-President Brenda showed a project we will do at the January meeting which is a table topper that reverses and ties up into a basket. More info will be posted closer to the January meeting. Estella read an inspirational quilting poem. Co-President Sherry passed out a spool of thread with a message about getting ‘tied’ into knots while sewing. We enjoyed a delicious finger food buffet with many desserts as we shared the sweet stuff some brought to share. New Family and Consumer Agent, Deana West, dropped in to introduce herself and offer her assistance and expertise. Then Co-President Sherry had a unique and fun game with a die that decided for you if you kept your gift, traded it, passed it to the right or other fun instructions before we opened the gift we ended up with. Quilting is such a fun hobby and fellowship and friendship with quilters is among the most fun activities! Thanks to all that attended and especially to June for the beautiful table decorations. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and now on to the next thing! Our Christmas party is coming up and here is a reminder of what to expect.
*A short meeting
*Gift exchange (if you want to participate bring a $15 -$20 sewing related gift)
*A finger food brunch. Cost is $5 per person and the guild will pick up the remainder of the catering cost. You can bring a dessert to share if you want.
*After the party, the extension office is having a wreath making event which we have reserved spaces for our group. Cost is $25 or $20 with a donation of 4 canned goods.

This is always a fun event with lots of fellowship, laughs, and good food. WE NEED A HEAD COUNT FOR THE CATERING SERVICE. PLEASE COMMENT BELOW A RSVP……YES OR REGRETS. Thanks!

Today is the day for vendors and quilts set up! Community center from noon until 5PM. Quilts must be set up today!

It’s almost time! Here’s a reminder of what was decided at our last meeting pertaining to the quilt show and craft bazaar.
CRAFT BAZAAR….vendors can set up on Friday, November 8, 2024 from noon to 5PM. Tables will be $5 each and will be collected on Saturday. Vendors can still join us by contacting Sherry @ Quilter’s Playhouse or (606) 624-5267.
QUILT SHOW….Quilts need to brought to the community center on Friday, November 8th, between noon and 5PM. All quilts should have an envelope on the back with the quilter’s name on a paper inside it. If you can’t come to the community center at that time, they can be brought to the Quilter’s Playhouse before 4:30 PM on Friday. For ease of handling, put the quilt in a pillowcase with your name on the outside as well as on the envelope on the back. Quilts will be judged before the show so all quilts must be hung on Friday. Community members as well as members are invited to show their quilts.
The quilt show/bazaar is in lieu of a meeting in November, so no November meeting. We will have our Christmas party on December 3, 2024.

After we discussed final details for our craft bazaar/quilt show, we had a great Sew, Show and Tell at our October 2024 monthly meeting. Some of these beauties will be for sell at the craft bazaar/quilt show so stop by the LC Community Center on November 9 and check them out along with all the other beautiful quilts from our community and the great crafts from all kinds of vendors. September 23, 2024 monthly meeting was a catch up time. We worked on plans for our fall quilt show and craft bazaar, shared some beautiful Sew, Show, and Tell projects, and had a tasty pot luck lunch on beautifully decorated tables (thanks, June Smith for the cute decor) and fun fellowship.

We missed last month’s meeting so let’s make it up this month with our monthly meeting on Monday September 23, 2024 at the extension office! It is time for our quarterly finger food brunch so if you want, bring a dish and stay after the meeting for some good fellowship and good food. Our main focus of the meeting is catching up our plans for the November quilt show and craft bazaar. So bring your ideas, vendor suggestions, an item for the grab bag, any Sew, Show, and Tell items you want to show, and a dish for the lunch. Let’s do this quilters!

I am old and I just realized I still have so many unanswered questions!!!! I never found out who let the Dogs Out...where's the beef...how to get to Sesame Street... why Dora doesn't just use Google Maps...why eggs are packaged in a flimsy paper carton, but batteries are secured in plastic that's tough as nails...why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed... why "abbreviated" is such a long word... why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor yet dish-washing liquid is made with real lemons... why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections... and, why do you have to "put your two cents in" but it's only a "penny for your thoughts" where's that extra penny going to... why do "The Alphabet Song" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" have the same tune... why did you just try to sing those two previous songs... and just what is Victoria's secret? ...and do you really think I am this witty?? ... I actually got this from a friend, who stole it from her brother's girlfriend's, uncle's cousin's, baby's momma's doctor who lived next door to my old class mate's mail man...Now it is your turn to take it from me...Peace!!
